Everyone loves to show off their new favorite or even an old favorite. What about that one card or cards that maybe now looking back.. your not so sure about or proud of.
I picked this up a year before his suspension spending a bunch of eBay bucks and cash on it.

still looking to unload it and pick up a sweet spot but those are about the only cards of his still selling at a decent rate it seems. Or have some very proud owners.

I actually like that card. The way I see it, he's part of baseball history whether you love him or hate him. That's why I still picked up a Bonds auto. Let me know if you want to move it.

In March of 2004, I, at the time, spent the most I ever had for a card: $124 dlvd for a '02 SPA Josh McCown patch / auto #'d/250. It'd probably get $25 today ... IF I was lucky.

Paying $20ish for a Mark Wohlers 1992 Fleer "Rookie Sensations" card probably wasn't too bright.

But in my Defense, that set went for HUGE numbers early on...

I love the FreshINK cards from the early 00s. What would your price on this be? I used to love A-Rod on the Mariners, and might be able to kick you a few bucks towards your Sweet Spot Auto

By far the Mark McGwire 85 Topps RC in the middle of the HR Chase of 98.
Paid $200 for an slightly off centered copy that I still have in a half inch lucite holder and felt pouch.

I was 17 year old high school senior and worked a full time job making 5.00 an hour. That was a weeks worth of work down the drain.

Same, bought a PSA 8 later summer of '98 when he was in the 50s. First graded card I had ever seen. $250. My ROI calculation would return a DIV/0! error at this point.

In early 2005 I bought a Carlos Beltran rookie card BGS 9.5 for $250
It was immediately following his insane post season with Houston

And a Joba Chamberlain 07 rookie in 07 BGS 9.5/10

I still have the Joba that's probably, literally worthless

I bought my McGwire for $5 a couple of years before 1998 happened - the card is still in a screw down.

I vastly over-paid for these because I thought A) he'd be the next Lincecum (in a good way) and B) I thought I could get all five. I don't even have them anymore.
