So what's the deal with Peter O'Brien?

He is 23 in hi A ball but obviously feels offended by taking 4 balls (3 walks).

He is putting up big numbers but is it because of his age and level?

Some of it is probably age/level, and if he keeps hitting it would probably make sense for the Yankees to move him up to AA for the last, maybe 1/3 of the season, but he's a guy that produced in college and on Team USA, and was a 2nd round pick, so he has talent. He'd have got started quicker, but he had a down year his junior year and fell in the draft, so decided to transfer to Miami and play for his hometown school, and reestablish his stock. As for his BB numbers, his rate was better in Charleston before the promotion, and a lot of times if a hitter is hot, his BB rate goes down, because he's seeing the ball. I believe it'll normalize. He's a guy I've really liked since college. Probably has the ceiling of a slightly above-average hitter with big power, 100+ K's and an ok to solid BB rate.

Kind of an odd line for Giolito. 0.2IP 0H 1R 1ER 3BB 1K

Pitch limit? Punished for the walks? Eh?

Probably a limit.

I swear, it makes me sick when I see organizations babying their top arms, considering the end result. Bundy, for one.
