Was set up at the history museum in St. Pete and I was in awe of the stuff this guy has in his personal collection

Wow! That's pretty impressive. Did you happen to get his info that you could share? I would really be interested if he is going to be anywhere near New England. I would really like to see that collection!

Thanks for sharing.

Looks like this "Guiness World Record for Largest Collection of Signed Baseballs" is on loan to the St Pete Museum until 2032

The Cobb looks dodgy on the 39 ball
I have heard that before about the bigger pieces in this collection. I wouldn't say either way without eyeing it in person, but the autos on that 1939 ball all look similar and a little too fresh to me. I doubt that the Joe Jackson is legit just because they are so damn rare, but i dont know his signature. I do know that I wouldn't touch that Cap Anson ball (and I need him for my HOF collection), as that ball screams "Coaches Corner" to me.

I hate to be a hater, because this collection is incredible, and I would still love to see it in person. I'm sure >99% is authentic.

without even thinking about the legitimacy of the autos themselves, I feel the Frank "Home Run" baker, honus wagner and cy young balls looks way too white and not tan or brown enough for what a ball that old should be like.

Wow, just some stupid amazing stuff. Damn. That '39 ball is insane.

Stupid question but why does the cap anson ball look like it has pimples and all bubbly and like it's dunked in clear coat.

He's been buying and collecting since the early 50's I don't believe they're fake but there will always be someone that doubts

I think shellacking baseballs for preservation used to be a practice so perhaps that explains the Anson
