gracecollector: That is a great story. I love it when PC cards materialize out of nowhere.

Brad: that deserves its own thread, especially on a day when everyone is looking for any reason to start a thread!

Nice logoman!

you know, I have completed this set, but the 2 things that I do not have represented are a logoman and a button card.

Help me out and show me some TOTT Logoman and buttons!

You have my attention. What do you need for it and what value are you putting on it?

Thanks,

For the time being, I'm at $249 firm. I recall it being numbered to 7 w/ pinstripe. It's also a pants button. I found the scans. Thanks

Great card. Silly they didn't show him in pinstripes for the pic though.

You should check out the first series. They matched almost every single card as best as they could. The update was more of a rush job due to the circumstances.

Here are my Jumbos where you can see the swatches matching the photos.

The Rickey is fake. He never wore a jersey with that patch. He played for Seattle in 2000 and that patch wasn't worn until 2001.

This notice is required by law.

He got the Vlad slabbed authentic to make it seem like the patch is authentic :benson:

So is it safe to say that if a patch passes through and gets slabbed the best case scenario is it's real, and the worst case scenario is the faker did a good enough job that the card has no evidence of damage?

That's the part about grading I cannot answer as I don't grade on a regular basis nor do I know the complete criteria they use when grading memorabilia cards other than they don't grade the patch at all. They grade the card apparently. Now even if the card has damage around the window the card is still authentic as the card itself is a real 2005 absolute jumbo card. Its the patch that is subjective. I truly wish there was a better way to find out if the patches in this set are packed out or altered. The problem is there were and are nice patches in this set that are legit, we just don't always know which ones. In the case of these the fact that the whole window is used to display the logo patch brings a huge red flag as most of the nicer patches from this set have partial patch partial jersey. Now is that a way to be 100% certain the card is not altered? No because look at the rickey Patch as its has a little jersey showing and it was already said that the patch could not have been on a rickey jersey as he only played in seattle in 2000 and that patch in the card is from 2001. For the record not all of those jumbos posted are fake or altered.
