TwinsFest/Caravan (HOF, Prospects, and more!)

January seems to be my biggest month of getting in-person autographs. This year was no different. I just figured I would share my haul. I apologize for the quality of the photos. I currently am without a scanner.

Waffle Fundraiser w/Indians prospect Jordan Smith.

This was to support a "local" youth baseball organization, and they brought Smith in. I loved watching him play in 2010 in the NWL and have been following his career ever since. I got a MASSIVE Belgian waffle (with the option for seconds but I couldn't do it), and 2 autos, all for 7 or 8 bucks.



Next was Caravan. I had 4 on my radar this year, but only one ended up to be a public stop. I can't complain because the lineup was excellent (although I was a tad bummed because Perkins was on one of the stops). Carew, Oliva, Gibson, Hicks, and Hendriks all came. Carew was advertised as "NO AUTOGRAPHS" but it was changed too "PHOTOCARDS ONLY." I did see a couple items sneak through the line, but they were pretty cheap.

I never knew that Liam Hendriks was a top 5 Australian-rules football player but decided to go with baseball instead.



Next up was TwinsFest. This is my 1-day haul. The past few years, I had help with the autographs. This year, I did everything by myself. I panicked a little beforehand because some of my items didn't come in on time and I forgot to order a few cards, but I think I improvised well. The one thing I didn't like was getting Kevin Tapani on the photopaper. I wish I had a card for him. Anyways, here are the pics.

These are the better cards. Sano's line was INSANE. My dad pulled the Molitor/Jenkins cards from a grab bag, so I got them signed.



These are 4x6 photopaper. I usually bring some sort of item to be signed by people that I have nothing for. I grabbed these on the way out the door. They look pretty nice. I am just going to list the players, not the quantities on this one.

There was no real rhyme or reason as to who I got to sign these. I had them for a couple guys who didn't show. Figured I could knock off a few for the Twins OMLB PC.

Last, but not least, I was able to finally add a Joe Mauer autograph to my collection.



I had a great TwinsFest. Won't be adding anymore IPs until mid February. We also drove by the Cathedral last night and got to see the Crashed Ice course. It was really something...

Great stuff, Taylor. I'm jealous of the OMLBs.

Curious if you heard anything about how Sano was? I saw him last year multiple times with Beloit in the MWL and he was tough. Would only sign cards/8x10/sometimes SS balls sometimes not. No bats/larger items. Was 1-per too. I think he's going to be really good, but he's already a bad IP signer.

As far as I know, he was 1-per. I've seen LOTS of SS sigs.

I also know that he hung around for a few hours after his session, and was signing for people that found him (behind the curtains, so he wasn't accessible to regular fans).

You should have let me know I have a couple of Desert Shield Tapani's, I would have given you one.
