Awesome card [MENTION=10975]athletics07[/MENTION]

Now time to play IS IT REAL?!

Recently got this in hand. First two pics are basic and the last two compare 98 Flair with my pack pulled 99 Ultra.

While it may be hard to tell, the fonts are the same size and the color of the foil matches.
What do you guys think?
And if it is fake numbered 1. Would you return it? 2. Keep it knowing that it is still a unique piece (limited print)? or 3. Keep it to pull it off the market?

Here are some pics I have of other 1998 Masterpieces. My only question is why do the 1999's say Masterpiece Edition? I'm gonna guess the Walker is real, but I'm definitely no authority on the matter.

PERSONALLY, i still don't think it's legit. the stamping doesn't look nearly as crisp and the dot of the "i" seems to bleed into the letter which i was told is a sign of an aftermarket printing. totally your call on what you want to do with it.

i don't but i know the 1998 year seems to be most prevalent. there's two unstamped masterpieces listed ATM. mcgwire and big hurt

Though the market has dipped , he does sell well. This is the card I mentioned on 3/8. It was not an auction, it was BIN.

Anyone have a rough idea on print run on the gold foils? I know the pack odds are about 20x the blue foil.

Never mind, did the math off the Series 1 Golden Anniverary (/50) packs odds. Looks like ~ 25 copies each of the gold foil autos.

One more 1998 legacy...just says "masterpiece" not "masterpiece edition" which the 1999 legacy says

Also the 1998 ultra masterpiece cards says "masterpiece edition" on the back
