You have to admit its at least different. Back in the day you could bank off nearly anyone who got attention with a base chrome because not everyone got an autograph. Now you have to have a guy really hit it to bank.

preach...i remember selling popular base chromes to offset box cost. last one i remember at a decent price was Francouer '02 BDraft Chrome at $40.

Laporta, bumgardner, price and heyward were guys you could rake in base chromes as their auto didn't come out for 6 months

Pineda, Julio Teheran and Matt Moore were the last ones I remember. All 2009.

But are all those bids legit? A pretty high number of bids, bidders with a lot of bid retractions and then some pretty high percentages (granted some of those guys haven't bid on many other items).
I have no doubt Mateo autos could reach triple digits but there may be some shady action going on in that auction.

I think the story was edited because when it first was posted it said $200-300 or something and now it says $60, which isn't correct either, so the edit needs to be edited.

They are selling for $250-$300. It's insane. lol They will probably be $25 in a year.
