I'm waiting to stumble upon a dime box at a show loaded with Tek. Every Tek I see for a dime I grab, if not for me, to try and help out someone else who's stuck collecting these. I'm still on 0 PC Diffractors, and probably always will be, unless some dealers go into their decade-plus old backstock and start selling out the stuff they though was junk.

Id be interested in trading for the 1998 Topps TEk 19p4 and 21p38 for a guy Im helping who is around 100 to go for his 8100 card master set. I too am collecting the same card# pattern #s (I have 3 full sets of those separate from my Master set) and a fourth with 10 to go and 5th same card# pattern # set with 52 to go. I also pick up pattern#1s if I can buy cheap (2 extra sets of those) .. Also lookgin for a few oddball condition upgrades for some that have peeled ovals, black dots or scratches (about 50 of them in Master set)[email protected] Carl . 98 TEK Want list furnished upon request for trading purposes only

Lot of theories... Ranging from 10 to 20 of each specific card# pattern# diffractor. I have no idea if that is accurate but there have been a few post in this thread trying to make guestimates..... I know from another collector's dupes list I was sent that between us we have 5 of one specific Diffractor card... a Todd Dunwoody card # 36 pattern# 63 Diffractor. Does that mean we could have half of all that specific card? That does not seem realistic but I dont think that anyone really knows what is print run is....Do you have any extra regular 98 TEKs as I am one of those rumored 3-5 hard core Tek collectors who did the 8100 regular and Im looking for a few condition upgrades for cards that have some small spots, lines, offset card pattern numbers in the ovals on the back. Nothing major just looking for a relatively pristine card with no noticeable imperfections as a condition upgrade to the one in my Master set. There are also a few on list below for a second separate Same card # pattern # number 90 card set. I trade for or buy and Pattern # 1 98 TEKs or Same Card # pattern # cards even if not on want list below

Poor fella. At least it's not a terrible deal. I wonder how many people get them in hand and STILL think they are Diffractors because they don't know any better.

Yeah, seems like the going rate is $60-$65 for McGwire. I think that's the max b/c it was a board member that had it on a $100 BIN/BO and that was the BO.

He has a following for some reason. We've seen a Diffractor go for $25 on a BIN. I wonder what the max is on a Fullmer Diffractor?

Yeah, but who cares. Kevin Brown is no Rusty Greer

I wrote to the fellow who listed the Griffey "diffraction" cards and politely explained to him that he was listing base cards, not diffractors. Gave him a couple of links to scans of diffractors that the Rhode Island guy has listed in perpetuity for megabucks. Got the impression that he knew he was trying to pull a fast one and didn't care.

Our Padres collector could save 100% in shipping costs by purchasing his own listing!

Didn't realize that was him.Thought he was collecting them, not moving them?Or is it just Caminetti he collects?

The guy with those Griffey cards had them marked at $12 too.Doesn't sound like it's worth risking feedback over by mistating what they are.

If Griffey base will sell for $5, then no wonder elberson is trying to get $1200 for his set of Bonds.I thought someone else had a McGwire Diffractor that sold well too? When did the Fullmer Diffractor sell for that much?I never saw it.Hard to believe that when that Vaughn only brought $1 not long ago.

Lol.

I super collect Caminiti. I was planning on doing the team set but gave up on it. Sold a bunch of my Gwynns to Gwynn545. I'm probably keeping my remaining 16 Gwynn.

never hurts to try! I actually received 4 offers and the highest was 950.00 and 1000.00, I'm not hurting for money, so I'm going stand tall for the 1200.00. 3-4 years collecting the set. I feel like there my little babies.....with big heads
