When bad things happen to good cards....

(If you're a Mark Grace collector, turn away)

Opened a box of 98 Circa Thunder tonight. All the cards were fused together in every pack. Did manage to pull a Super Rave /25 Grace, but as you can see, humidity claims another victim. :(

Ouch!!! Shedding a tear for you. If you don't want to look at it, I could find a place for it - PM me if you want to trade/sell. Thankfully I have one. I love his prophetic quote on this card - five more good years: check, World Series ring before it's over: check.

Threw this up in the Clark forum, but thought maybe the 90's forum might help too. Any PC guys ever see a 1999/2000 Skybox Autographics Purple that was missing the serial number? I don't think it is backdoored since it has the normal Skybox Authenticity Stamp, but definitely is the Purple version rather than the Silver Base Autographics.

There are several on COMC, most likely signed and stamped in the event a replacement was needed, pretty standard for autos and other rare inserts of the period. It was nice when card companies would actually replace your damaged card with the same card. I remember sending in a numbered insert that was damaged and received back a replacement with the same serial number and since these are ink transfering serial number would be a snap.

Just got this 1999 Flair Showcase Legacy Collection Row 2 in, was the last card I needed to finish the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Legacy rainbows. here's the 99-er (by far the least glorious looking of the three years, in my opinion, but nice nonetheless...)

anyone else have rainbows for all 3 years?

I love the 99 Row 2s. The giant jersey numbers in the background are awesome. I think they are one of the best. 97 Row 0 is always a fav and I also like 97 Row 1.

agree with you about 99 Row 2, i think that is my favorite design that year. the 99 Row 1 THE worst design of all, I didn't like how that was the only one where they stamped the serial number on the front. Also it doesnt have the same brilliance or shine as other designs.

in addition to the two 97 rows you mention, I liked 98 Row 0 and Row 1.

Not baseball, but since the football designs are the same...

1997 was the best year, I think I prefer the Row 2 design. I think that the 1999 Row 2 design (or whatever row it is with the uniform number) was the worst, just cheesy-looking and doesn't seem to match the rest.

Im missing 3 Griffeys. I just bought a box of 99 Flair looking for a Grifey row 2, got Chan Ho Park instead. The Griffey Row 2 from 98 is actually one of my favorites behind the 97 row 0. I only know of like 2 people that have it.

Is there something wrong with the site's photo capabilities? I keep trying to upload scans of this massive 90's haul I had today, and it keeps saying "Upload Failed". Incredibly annoying, since it's one thing to say I got an SPx Grand Finale for pocket change, it's another thing to see it! ;)
