Phew! Im tired. Had a very busy morning hitting the four local goodwills.

The group of goodwills in my area put out a calendar, with certain items being on sale certain days. Today was dollar t shirt day. Im off work today, and so is my wife. So she watched the little one, and after i dropped off the older to school, i started my adventure.

Now im home, with 110 shirts to start processing! And i have really tamed my buying recently, by really looking over the shirts in the store before purchasing. I put back around twenty shirts today due to holes, stains, odd sized after washing, etc.

Add these to my already listed items, and after i get these listed, ill be at 770 items. Made a few sales recently when i put my store on sale, so adding some fresh inventory should produce more results.

For those who havent seen, this is what 110 shirts looks like stacked in front of a fridge...

And now heres the same shirts, laid out so you can see what i got. Im gonna try and get em smaller so it doesnt bog down your internet ;)

Just curious how many shirts a month you sell and at what prices??? I have started sticking to vintage only at price points at $19.99- $44.99 on some of the rare ones.

Don't you get charged .15- 30 per item listed each month????

700 items at .30 is $210 a month

Just curious

Yup! We had one for Alie, then got one for Avery. It gets really old, but the kids learned the alphabet with the darn thing, so i guess its worth the headaches. ;)

For the past year i have lived on the free listings and relistings that everyone else on the board gripes about. Sure, it clogs up ebay with tons of common baseball cards, but it allows me to list for zero cost until an item sells. Now that they have done away with the relisting, i started a basic store last month. That only gets me 150 freebies, and i can use that up in no time. I am trying to mathematically figure out how i can sustain my inventory without going broke by listing fees.

the next level store gives me 500 freebies, but then im still well over that with my inventory. I started a sale earlier this week to try and clean out some inventory, and it has worked a little, but i havent seen the purchases i was hoping for. Maybe that will change when it ends sunday night.

when you have a store, listing fees drop to twenty cents, but that still adds up. Luckily, this past week ebay ran a three day promo where you can list 3000 items, and it included 30 day listings. So, i ended all of my listings, which were set to end within a week anyways. Then i relisted them all, changing them to 30 day, to take advantage of the promo. Hopefully the beginning of December brings a similar promo.

i have gone up and down on my prices all year long, including adding shipping, then offering free shipping. All year during the auction style listings with free bin, i was basically doing 12/16, 13/17, and spent most of the year at 15/20. Now, since i started the store, i decided to stick to just bin, that way i can force payment upon someone winning a bid. Ive had a lot of npb, and i wanted to eliminate them completely. I have also added the best offer option last month, which just invites a whole slew of lowballers, and eliminated the immediate payment option. So this month i went back to bin. If someone wants to offer, they can just message me.

this month, i put my inventory on sale. I tried ten percent on all my Giants stuff, and i sold a couple. Then, i started a 25% sale on my entire store (but ebay only allows changes to 200 items a day). The first day i started getting sales. Half on sale, half regular price. Then yesterday and today, zero sales. Not sure why.

according to my summary, i have sold 230 items in the past 90 days. All varying in prices between ten to twenty dollars on tshirts, and selling an occasional jersey. My jackets barely move, and sweatshirts dont move too well either. So, i decided to stick with tshirts. I saw a cool boston celtics sweatshirt jacket today that i didnt pick up. I just dont pull in the big money on those types of items the way that you seem to.

I hope this gives a little insight to my world of flipping.

Winter is coming those items will start moving. I usually blow out old inventory at the flea market or yard sales.

Sounds like your doing well with the shirts to me

Watch your offers on your store homepage under sales etc. I have an eBay inventory of 1300 on average at all times and I never pay a penny other than my store fee. I always take advantage of all of the free listings either BIN or Auction. You just have to watch them and end your store/re list when needed to take advantage of the deals.

I try to stick with vintage stuff you don't see everywhere.

Well, I occasionally find something vintage, like the niners starter shirt or the sharks shirt. But like you said, you don't see it everywhere.

After dealing with a buyer who left a neutral, I am seriously sticking with t-shirts now. Guy bought a sweatshirt, I even accepted his "best offer", and leaves me a neutral with just a period in the comment. I wrote him asking whats up since I took his offer and shipped priority. He said it was badly used. He also said it wasnt "like new" in my listing, which is bunk cuz I dont put in terms like new. So lame.

One perk of having a store is the ability to end your listings in mass format. Before the store, I could only end one at a time. So even though the store costs 20 a month, it's worth it for the perks and added features.

ASTROBURN and rum151man - what do you do with damaged items? I try and inspect everything really carefully in the store but with lighting sometimes I don't catch little holes or catches or stains. Do you sell them as damaged or donate them back?

Same thing happens to me. This last load left me with two giants shirts - one had a hole, the other had stains and an unraveling bottom. But I gave them to a coworker, and the other to a customer. The A's shirt I got I was so excited to find that I didnt notice the huge pit hole. My fault completely.

I will list them as flawed, definitely not trying to put one over the potential buyer. Every item I get that has any spot, tear, hole, stain, flaw, I point it out, taking close up pics, and lowering the price to see if I can make anything back on my original purchase price.

At this moment, I have a few up, but I am seriously considering pulling them. I want to be regarded as a higher quality seller, and not someone thats gonna throw up anything. On the other hand, some people will buy them regardless, so its a catch 22.
