Just need to check my numbers here, but I am less than 100 (maybe 50) away from 5000...I picked up #4800 almost one year ago exactly... My Topps Tek count is all messed up, so I need to clear that up before #5000 comes! :D

Wow, 5,000 is a heck of an accomplisment! I'll be knocking on 4,500's door once I get my cards in from COMC's Black Friday sale. Perhaps sometimes next year I'll be able to hit that milestone...

I jumped over 2,400 this year, which was HUGE for me. I'm 80 cards or so away from 2,500 and not sure I'll get there unless Topps keeps putting out new cards of him in new releases.

The Topps Tek is the biggest variable I guess... missing about 180 cards between 1998 and 1999 lol

Thanks to my Black Friday COMC coup & several other incomings, yesterday was a big mail day and I had over 90 cards to pick from what would be #4000 . Alas, cards #3999 & #4000 , sold to me by board member wkpeters3213:

bigunitcards - I love to see that I'm not the only one with a crazy excel spreadsheet like yours lol... I'll have to post mine up soon but mine is a living breathing document with all sorts of things. I even keep notes and mark certain cards as "gone" if they were sold to another collector or I've seen a picture of it in another collectors collection, etc. Too cool!

Wow, I was all set to post that my player, (Paul O'neill) didn't even have 1500 cards but then I thought to myself that he has been in every Topps product put out in the last 3 years and ought to check. I almost fell down, 1800+ I know it's small numbers to some of you guys but at one time in like '09 I was at like 80% complete. I got some ground to cover now!

Congrats on #4 ,000! I'll have to build a spreadsheet like that in the future. I have a hard copy binder checklist and a Microsoft Word havelist but haven't done a percentage build out. I'm afraid to see how far off I am! haha

Here is a sampling of my actual checklist, 2001. Green = owned. white = not owned. Red = serial <'d less than 100. I copied Beckett's online price guide into Excel & chopped it up. I have COMC & Beckett marketplace prices recorded for stuff I've looked at but deemed a tad too high. I also record the serial # of all numbered cards as sort of a check-in system. Then I pivot table the data to make the recap tables when needed.

I can send you my checklist if you'd like but to make that look a little cleaner, just make a box to the left of every line and then use the same code to fill in the box to indicate whatever you want. I use a "X" to make if I have it or not and then I can use excel to do calculations for me per year, etc. I also then can color the boxes in for *white being regular card *red being "gone" *blue being printing plate *green being 1/1 and *yellow being premium card like nameplate, knob, etc.

Pretty cool to see someone else go crazy with a checklist like me
