HP scanjet G3110 scanning tips>>>

I got one of these beasts from recomm'd in the MT and just got around to playing with it.

Any ideas or tips on scanning slabs? I can't seem to get the lid flush so I am getting an uneven flair.

Also there is a slid strip in the lid, any idea how to get rid of that?

Can't get rid of the slide strip that I know of.

Best results that I had were using it in the dark and leaving the lid open.

I sold it when I got my new all-in-one, but it was a great scanner.

Just put a black cloth/shirt over it with the lid open.

I concur with lid open in the dark (or dim light). Worked well for me when I used that model. Although for some dark chrome/foil cards, the picture looks better if you put a sheet of white paper over the card.

I have two pieces of construction paper for scanning, one black and one white. Depending on the scan I place one of them over the cards rather than closing the lid. I HATE the film holder in the center of the lid.
