This is my one and only, but if you do not have one in your collection I recommend adding one. I felt $20 was a solid buy and I really like the card stock and on card auto.

Agreed! The Gallery cards are some of my favorite Doerr's in my collection.

Here's the latest pickups (photos are bad this time around I know)

ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1415484660.940585.jpg
Signed Teammates photo by all 3 -PSA/DNA and out of the personal collection of a Doerr family friend in Orgeon, which also got me this

Don't usually grab IP or TTMs but felt pretty confident in this one regarding the other items from the seller. And it just a really really cool signature on a card that Doerr refuses to even sign anymore

Few more to check off the checklist

And then this TCMA postcard which I think I actually brought off FCB member MaineMule on eBay without even knowing it lol
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1415485045.133147.jpg

And lastly another Double Play upgrade on the vintage side

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! It took me forever to find the proof versions, as they are numbered to 25.

Your Strata auto is great as well. I have a Pedro but it is single color like your's. I wish with them being limited that Topps would have found a way for all of them to at least be multi-color. Still beautiful cards overall but they could have been amazing, like some of them are.

2 very interesting thoughts from this quote. (1) Would anyone actually fake a Doerr auto now (that could change eventually) being that they are so plentiful and (2) do you know why he refuses to sign that certain card? I find refusal stories fascinating.

I constantly worry about it because it's fairly easy to do so and get away with it nowadays with not only how many he signs but his signature fading day by day. There are clear differences in his sig from just a few years ago to the ones coming out now, which makes it harder to authenticate. Like I said I won't go after non certified stuff unless I trust the seller or it's an item I determine is worth taking the risk on.

The story I got from multiple card shop owners out in Oregon and also have heard from TTMers as well is that he finally got pissed off that people couldn't even tell that it's Leo Durocher on the card and not him. It's an uncorrected error, so TTMers just send it to him thinking must be him. He used to send it back with the inscription like the one I picked up or a "This is not me" line but has now stopped that all together over his frustrations of the ignorance of the collectors. From my interactions with him, he doesn't mind signing, but does get annoyed when people try to take advantage of his generosity and don't care about the details at all.

Thanks,
Jeff

I guess I'd have to be in his shoes to fully understand. The reality is that the card is a Doerr, whether it pictures him or not. There are probably many collectors who would not know or be able to tell that it wasn't him. I didn't look at the card closely and with my eyes starting to fail me (I can't focus on card backs any more w/o glasses), I would need a larger picture to tell, but I definitely know what Durocher looks like. I have a few cards like that where the player made a note that the picture wasn't him.

This is the same exact card that went for $307 a month ago-buyer decided to flip it I guess and did make a profit as I got it for $355-tough bullet to bite but I'm thrilled to add one for my collection for under $400!

Thanks for looking-until next time!

Ha ha....you did ;) Glad to help. I like those multiple player TCMA issues from the 70's. I have a bunch in my Ted collection. Great collection BTW!!!

Figured it was you since it was signed MaineMule ;) -appreciate it buddy! I like them as well, just wish they were more vibrant and didn't fade as easy as they do!

Thanks,
Jeff
