Original card back artwork for 1962 Topps card #188, Chuck Hiller

Hiller was born and raised in McHenry, IL near me. His one claim to fame is hitting a grand slam for the Giants in the '62 World Series (game 4). He was the first NL player to hit a series grand slam - an accomplishment that earned him a highlight card in the '63 Topps set.

I also picked up a vintage Hiller player-model youth glove last month. These two items will make a nice display on my bookcase of local baseball history.

From 12/3/18:

Another 1936 Goudey Wide Pens for my Yankee set
Last 1940 Play Ball (unless I purchase a DiMaggio sometime much later) for my Yankee set

Two more 1936 Goudey Wide Pen cards arrived on Saturday (12/8). I only need to find a Red Rolfe to complete the Yankees!

Picked up my first ever Venezuelans. All 3 have paper loss on the back, but the fronts look pretty good and they display well.

Got them back from PSA recently and was happy that 1)they came back authentic and 2) they actually were given numerical grades with having significant paper loss on the backs...I was 99.9% sure they were real, but just nice having it confirmed and encapsulated.
