Hmmm you may have a point here. If a card sells for a steep price, certainly could cause others to list the same card if they've been sitting on it. Problem is that testing this theory would send me to the poor house. If only someone would buy all the ridiculously-priced cards I'm missing, then I could just wait for the deluge of more reasonably priced examples.

In a totally unrelated related note - anyone out there want to bankroll a little science experiment? I'll share the nobel prize with you :)


I paid over $400 for the Mattingly Scoremasters Sample promo card as I hadn't seen one on ebay in years. I guess people saw how much it went for because after I bought it there has been about five others listed with the lowest going for about $200. I noticed the same thing happened with the Donruss Acqeous test card.
