I think of this from time to time. I once bought a guys O'neill collection and inside the box of cards was a manila envelope that stored a 1988 Topps cloth O'neill. After going through the collection I put it back in my sports room to organize at a later time. After a long period of time I thought about the card but never saw it again. I have a suspicion that my wife mailed something using the envelope because they were the same type that I used for my trades. I'm thinking that because it was a new envelope and the card is cloth (paper thin) that it was not noticed and mailed off to someone. I still hope I open one of my many boxes of cards put away and it resurfaces. What are you missing?

A '55 Topps Aaron card. I purchased it back in 2003-2004 but when I went to pull it out a few years back, had no idea what happened to it. May have sold it but don't remember so I picked up another.

Nothing major, only very very veryyyy minor. A few 5 cent 90 Donruss cards. A bit from completion but went through a stack of 2 or 3 hundred cards to see if there was anything I could use.. Well i found about 5 or 6 I could use, set them to the side, and carried on with whatever I was doing, maybe adding other stuff I had into Beckett.

I called it a day and planned to get back to the 90 Donruss stuff the next day.. But I never found the cards.

Comparing to other predicaments, that is nothing haha.. They are the cheapest cards available and so easily attainable but it was still a little frustrating.

I've got a 1982 Fleer John Littlefield reverse negative somewhere in an 800 count box in my collection.

Also, I nearly lost this cabinet card after misplacing it in a bag of cardboard that was destined for the recycling center. If I hadn't double checked the bag, it would have been lost forever. Or the sanitation guy who found it would have had a nice impromptu mailday.

I've misplaced cards lots of times. Almost always find them. Only ones I haven't "found" are my Donruss Collections and Prized Collections. I also haven't searched thru everything to find them. I misplaced the box I thought they were in and later found it. I think I swapped the holders they were in? Only thing I haven't found is my Windwalker disc with Canseco on the other side. I know I have one but can't find it.

Yep just recently... I was going to an event where eddie murray would be attending so I picked up a rookie card and picked up another card I thought would look good signed. I sat them aside so I'd know where they where at. The day of the event I couldn't find them. I tore my house up looking them. This was back in November I haven't found them yet...

Somewhere I have a 2002 Topps Ten Barry Bonds autograph that I pulled from a loose pack at my LCS in 2002 and then had graded a few years later with the option for Beckett to place a piece of a Bonds HR bat in the slab (can't remember what HR the bat piece was from). Haven't seen the card in years and have no clue where the hell I hid the thing. :(

Man I did this once with a card I sold on eBay. I was packing up all my sold items for the post office. I couldn't find that one card and was sure I packed it up with the other sold items and I tore all those packages open after they were nicely packaged. After I gave up I found it in the scanner the next time I did some scanning.

Ugh. Yeah. I pieced out my baseball card collection slowly on eBay about 15 years ago. I inadvertently included all my Jordans, including inserts, in one of the lots.

:(
