Alcides Escobar is a few years from this list, but I think it's Tulo all the way, but Asdrubal Cabrera is all the defense you'd ever need.

Please, just make an executive decision and don't let Jeter be the answer. Tulo all the way. We were all smart and voted Votto over Pujols because we knew it was right; we need to do the same thing here and not vote off of some rosey memory of the stuff he's done.

Asdrubal Cabrera definitely deserves mention here, but his 5 errors in the past week certainly aren't going to lead me to advocate for him...

personally i want a player that can actually Play and isnt constantly hurt, just being on the field is a big part of helping your team...also jeter has better or similar stats batting wise over tulo this year so i dont think that is a rosey memory...might as well throw longoria on the best current team as well..that way the whole left side of the infield would only be able to play half a season

Over the last three seasons, Jeters numbers do not come close to Tulo's. If Tulo was injured he'd have better numbers yet again than Jeter.

If you want someone who will stay on the field and perform, take Starlin Castro ;)

Kid is a stud and will take the top SS mantle from Tulowitzki VERY soon. His (growing) power, speed and amazing batting eye are more than enough, even with his still developing defense.

I chose Tulo and Starlin. How great Jeter has been, he is no longer the best SS in the game.

Fine Tulo is hurt a lot, but I'd still take Asdrubal Cabrera over Jeter any day of the week. He provides just as much offense, more power, and he actually can go beyond three steps to his left or right to field a ground ball.

Tough decision as the best hitters seem to be the worst fielders, the veterans at the position aren't really putting it together, and the young guys haven't done enough to show they are going to be consistent. I like what Escobar has done this year and he's leading the league in BA at SS, but he's been now where near that.
