So, I was just looking at the specifics of this promotion Topps is running for the Kickoff promo packs from the hobby shops, and I noticed the redemption cards are only redeemable from 9/6-9/11.

WTF? Why not make it an even shorter window,Topps?

I mean, it's not like there aren't going to be large amounts of shop owners anyway who will just claim they didn't receive their shipments of the packs and list them on eBay, or rip them hoping to hit an auto and start selling the singles.......now give more of them the incentive to do so by this ridiculously short window.

I would bet on the 10th there's going to be a mass listing of these packs, all hyping "possible autographs"...with the rationale, why wait one more day?

Actually what can happen to is they don't get them until say around the 8th and then try and dump them on there limited customer base.
Yep I can see what you said can happen will happen. LOL

How dare Topps only give away FREE cards for a few days? You should boycott this FREE promotion...

Your sarcasm belies your naivete. All due respect, but in 37 years of being a collector, then show dealer, then internet dealer, before quitting in the early 2000's and getting back into the business side a little bit a few years ago, I've rarely seen shop owners "dump" anything on their limited customer base if they had even the SLIGHTEST inkling they could or way they could make a profit from the item in question, be it online or at a show....late receipt of shipment or not.

There are going to be a lot of these cards being listed online, and I'd bet the majority will be listed by dealers, not collectors with eBay accounts, whether by the dealers themselves or through proxies, without the cards ever even being attempted to be offered to customers in exchange for the redemption cards.

Which is why Topps themselves should be handling the redeeming of the packs, with a legitimate redemption window.

You should boycott it too, all dealers are evil.

I don't know alot about this particular Program, but in the past, LCS and dealers have had no problem redeeming them way longer than the stated date.

Like the "Prime 9" cards that were only supposed to be good for one week, that kind of program.

Not a big deal either way IMO...

...and the live cards are starting to show up on ebay already...6 days before Topps' stated redemption window even opens...so much for dealers getting their supply late.

It is called a KICKOFF promotion, pretty sure that doesn't mean keep the program going until week 8!
The guy here in town told me yesterday he has the packs, but won't give them out until the 5th.
How dare he be honest and stick to the rules!
