A couple questions:

1. Would everyone be happy if this was the finals? Ignoring team allegiances, it would be hard to find fault in this series as a whole.
2. Are these Bulls better than we thought or are the Celtics worse than we thought? Maybe a little of both but the Bulls have looked really good.
3. Has Rondo made himself a max contract guy?

1. Yes
2. I think it just shows that celtics are just an average team without the big ticket
3. probably but definately if he gets a jumper and 3 ball

1. Yes, best series I've seen besides Dallas/SA in 06 (just because I'm a Mavs fan though)
2. Bulls are better than we thought, they played great once they got Salmons and Miller, and the Celts are proving how important Garnett really is.
3. NO, he feeds of Allen, Pierce and Garnett and if he gets seperated from them his #'s will go down IMO.

Completely agree with 1 and 2. On 3 I have no statistical proof, but watching him I disagree. When Rondo goes the Celtics go. During the last game I saw a stat that when Rondo was in the Celtics were +53 and when he was out they were -33. He's playing better than ever now while Pierce and Allen are alternating good games and KG is out, so I don't know how much it's him feeding off the big three and not the other way around.

I can only name two point guards (I'll even go three if you put Rose in there) I'm taking ahead of Rondo if I'm building a team for right now and the future. I sure hope he doesn't get a max contract so the Celts can keep him, but I think he's going to get close to it. Imagine if the Lakers got him.

1. Hard to imagine a better series.
2. Both, but I think the Celts are worse. If Chicago would keep up the pressure instead of going through 5-10 minute periods where they settle for jumpers, a lot of these games wouldn't have been so close.
3. No, he has a long way to go, it takes more than 1 good year. I also think his little foot injury, or whatever it is, is going to raise durability questions if he were in free agency. He plays pretty physical for a guy as small as he is.

He'll probably get a big contract, but I'd like to see him do something with 3 HOF'ers around him at all times...He does have talent driving and rebounding, but he can't shoot really at all from what I've seen.

Can't argue that. I'm an unabashed Rondo fanatic, but the way he plays scares the hell out of me. He's always throwing himself or getting himself thrown to the ground.

mlbgreats-even as a Celts fan you have to admit that game was GREAT, even if the Celts win I'll still love this series.

Yes it is a very good series but just drove me crazy that we lost the Game because Rondo could not hit a jump shot. When we were up 8 with 3or4 minutes left they doubled everyone else and left Rondo Open. He did try and hit a jumper but missed and then they kept daring him to shot and he wouldnt then he would pass the ball to someone who was well covered and we could not hold that lead. I like the Kid but if he would have hit just one jumper we would have won. Game 7 is in our house and no way we lose.

As someone who loves the college game, I really like how Rondo plays. The circumstances have just led me to not like him as much. Plus, the fact that he can't make a jump shot (generally, he's been better this series) drives me nuts. That really hurts the team when they play teams like LA or Cleveland, because they put Kobe/Lebron on Rondo and just have them sag back into the paint to play help defense.

I'm with you. He plays harder than most players in the league and puts his body on the line more than anyone else. He's really fantastic to watch.

Just saw this on ESPN:

Rajon Rondo had 19 assists without a turnover on Thursday, tying the NBA playoffs record in that category. Norm Nixon had 19 assists without a turnover for the Lakers in 1979.

At some point people will start giving him the credit he's due and will stop saying he's a product of the big three.

Yes it is a very good series but just drove me crazy that we lost the Game because Rondo could not hit a jump shot.
