As soon as I first heard of the idea of the 2011 Allen & Ginter state cards I wanted the card of my home state. Not the biggest fan of the fact that the card contains a Kentucky relic but still a great card. Serial numbered 19/50:
After buying it I decided it would be enjoyable to purchase cards celebrating the home state. The decision led to this purchase from the 1888 Allen & Ginter N11 set. The state flag is not the current state flag. In addition, the card says "the big bend state" rather than the more known "volunteer state" nickname. I learned that the phrase "big bend state" refers to a Native American reference to the Tennessee River.
Thanks for looking!
