As soon as I first heard of the idea of the 2011 Allen & Ginter state cards I wanted the card of my home state. Not the biggest fan of the fact that the card contains a Kentucky relic but still a great card. Serial numbered 19/50:

After buying it I decided it would be enjoyable to purchase cards celebrating the home state. The decision led to this purchase from the 1888 Allen & Ginter N11 set. The state flag is not the current state flag. In addition, the card says "the big bend state" rather than the more known "volunteer state" nickname. I learned that the phrase "big bend state" refers to a Native American reference to the Tennessee River.

Thanks for looking!

I LOVE! the state concept. I would love to get the whole US, but not at $50-$100 per state.

Very nice! I saw the old Virginia ginter on ebay this morning and like it. Don't really like the price the 2011 Virginia's are going for though. Looks like you got a great deal on both of yours.

Very awesome. I'm doing the same thing. Already got the N11 of New Hampshire, now just need to get the New England State relic. I wish it was just a New Hampshire relic rather than all of New England (the relic is a piece of Fenway), but it's still really cool.

I was a little disappointed that the card has Tennessee on it (being from Kentucky) but I'll probably pick one up anyway.

Those are some sweet cards. You have to think a few people are going to try and do the entire thing. Would look cool all put together. Anybody know how many total cards are in it for the set. Some states are combined. Or even the list of what each cards relics are. The Kentucky/Tenn is pretty cool with Churchill Downs relic and New England states with piece of green monster.

Thanks. With patience I may have been able to get a copy a little cheaper. Ebay 200630343277 went for $36.20. Horrible title. Of course there is no way of knowing the final price had I decided to participate late in the bidding.

I am yet to see the list. As you mentioned, there are some duals out there. I know that the NY relic has part of the base of the Statue of Liberty.

New England should have come with a little packet of Vermont Maple Syrup imbedded into the card.

Minnesota's has a piece of Amish Artwork. I was hoping it would be a few drops of water from a lake.

Too bad it couldn't be the webbing from an Amish kid's ****** foot.
