Very cool item, and a great flip for the seller. I remember this was featured in one of the Beckett Elite issues last year(?).

So the buyer from 2006 just bought it to sell a few good years. Good flip indeed.

That was just an ugly line-up for opposing pitchers, especially the first 6.
The other 3 weren't so bad, either. :P
Well...the other three weren't really so "good" either, especially when compared to the first six who basically were the reason for the "Murderer's Row nickname.

For reference, here is the typical 1927 batting order...and some notable 1927 season stats. The four bolded players are in the Hall of Fame and "Long" Bob Meusel is on some lists as a player who should be in there.
1. Earle Combs - .356 AVG
2. Mark Koenig - .285 AVG
3. Babe Ruth - .356 AVG, 60 HR, 164 RBI
4. Lou Gehrig - .373 AVG, 47 HR, 175 RBI
5. Bob Meusel - .337 AVG, 103 RBI, 47 2B, 24 SB
6. Tony Lazzeri - .309 AVG, 18 HR, 102 RBI
7. Joe Dugan - .269 AVG
8. Pat Collins .275 AVG
9. pitcher's spot

Of interest, the team batting average for that season (including all pitchers and bench players) was an amazing .307 with an .872 OPS. Again...those totals include their pitching staff who hit only 14 extra-base hits all season.
