I LOVE this set. Great design and on card autographs of hof'ers and stars. I eventually need to pick up the Ted Williams auto. I wonder how much this card would go for if it was ever released:

Not to be a ding **** but it's from 1999. :)

I am one card away from completing the base auto set. I only need Nolan Ryan.

Is anyone on this site an expert with these cards? In particular the Gold Ted Williams?

I know that a member on this site was trying to sell the gold Ted Williams. He was asking $3500 OBO

I think this set is a favorite of mine too. Nice looking design and on card autos. That jordan looks really cool. It would have looked great as a part of that set. Nice job on the set Klute.

Do you recall who it was?

I'll see if I could dig up his user name.

I agree this is a beautiful set. I love the horizontal photos, the clean layout, and the simpleness of the design. The base autos seem to be pretty plentiful (at least on ebay), but the "century" (serially #'d /100) less so. Does anyone happen to know what an appropriate price multiple is for the /100 vs. the base autos? For example, I noticed that on ebay a Greg Maddux /100 recently went on ebay for $565 in auction. I've monitored the base autos, and a few months ago I saw three go for $200, $225, and $220 in auction. So it seems that the century's are ~2.5x the base. I haven't really monitored other players cards in this set, but I was wondering if this holds across?

Also, a Willie Mays /100 went for $600. This seems an absurdly low price, given that the Maddux went for $565. Thoughts?

Great set. I thought I had a chance to pick up a Griffey gold for $300 about 7 years ago, but the seller didn't come through. It's one of a handful of Griffey autos I still want to add to my collection.

Was $565 on the Maddux reasonable? I thought I would win it at a little over $400 and was a buy surprised at the price although Maddux has few really nice auto cards. Card was not listed well either. If anyone is interested there's a Mathews Gold with a BIN of like $220...

I was watching the Maddux gold auction as well. 565 is a lot of money to me though for a player that is still signing.

I have a few Maddux autos, but I'm always surprised at how rabid it seems his fan base is. I also thought that card would sell for less than $500 and was perplexed at the ending price. Of course that's the first of that particular card I've seen hit ebay in 2+ years...

Pretty sure there was a Maddux gold within past few months. Did see the final sale though...

I have a couple of cards from the set. Here is the only one that hasn't been shown yet.
