A month ago I buy a lot of autographs/relics/inserts from a member on another board. So I wait probably 2 weeks, and no cards.I message seller and says he mailed, but no tracking status, and says he will mail another lot.2 weeks later and still nothing.I log into Paypal, I see that first lot was mailed 2 days after I paid.I check tracking number, but for some dumb reason there is no shipping status.I guess mail is slow this time of year, but should I conclude someone working for USPS didn't scan label when envelope was mailed *both* times? What the hell is the point of tracking if status isn't even available?I have bought several cards off eBay and forum recently, and no problems at all.Cards weren't worth a whole lot, but still aggrevated they are not in my mailbox yet.Would calling customer service with tracking help?Any other course of action to take?

What does it say online if u enter the tracking? Nothing whatsoever? Does it just say the label was printed? It sounds like they never got sent. I've always had it scanned in at least once at some point in the trip

+1 they can pay for shipping all they want but if they never make it to USPS they can't be scanned.

Paypal order status says envelope was mailed.Shipping status says "electronic shipping received" or something like that, but nothing else.Guess I can ask him again, doubt he would forget to send though.

Basically all that means is that the label was printed online. The PP status says mailed once a tracking is added, and electronic shipping received only means a label was paid for and printed. My guess would be that they were never shipped

So why was there no tracking showing until card arrived? How much longer should I wait until filing a claim? How long did it take to deliver cards?

Sounds like they weren't sent. But, I've been a victim of slow mail sending. Made a $400 trade once and my initial package was sent insured with dc.. It scanned twice then was lost. eventually showing up 8 months later unscanned at delivery. I've had others take 3-4 weeks for delivery

I live in Chicago and recently had a card I mailed to a suburb about an hour drive away go off the grid for 2 full weeks and then be delivered as normal. Also, I've noticed some of my Paypal Shipping packages aren't being scanned until they reach the destination sort facilities. I'd guess the local workers are cutting corners to keep up with the holiday demand. I'm not sure if either of these fit your situation, but I would still hold out hope.

I was mostly trying to give you some hope. I have seen it happen and in my 16+ years doing this, this is the time of the year that usps does some cray stuff. That said, i'd call or stop by ur local PO and let them look at the tracking, sometimes their comps have different data than what we see online. It's more likely, the guy hasn't shippped yet.

Did the person bring it into his local USPS or hand it to his postal carrier? If so, have him check with them to see what may have happened. If there is no movement in a few days, he should go to his local PO with the tracking # and have them begin an investigation.

Thanks to all for input.Doesn't sound like I should file a claim yet, but I understand I only have 45 days to do so.I'll stop by my PO and see if they can somehow find where it is and ask seller likewise.

Guys, the USPS is to blame, 100% in this situation and many others. They REFUSE, repeat, REFUSE to scan in my packages that I drop off. They tell me that they are understaffed and are unable to do it. I made a STINK about it, talked to every level of management there, and guess what, NOTHING. They flat out don't care.

So...should I file a claim soon if cards don't arrive?

That sounds awful. Isn't that against some policy? Whenever I drop off packages to be mailed, my post office scans them (only takes 10 seconds) and prints out an "item scanned" receipt showing the delivery confirmation number.

I would notify BO and send one more message. If nothing, then do what you have to do to protect yourself.

Will definitely go that route. On an unrelated matter, I recently sent a card to a member here.Took a lengthy 10 days to finally get to destination (most cards I mail only take 2-3 days). But was at least scanned and could track every step of the day.USPS *that* slow for holidays?
