I had that whole set at one time but sold it when I needed the cash. The Honus Wagner was always the highest priced. I also had the whole set of "Yellow" bat cards and most of the "grey" bat cards, including the Joe Jackson. Boy I wish I had those back...

The Mantle used to go for around $300-$350, and the Ruth around $800-$1000, I wonder if these prices are the new standard for those cards, or just a case of these not popping up too often.

The economy must be bad....

I don't know the print runs, but the Cobb, Wagner, Ruth, Mantle, and a couple other top echelon HOFers were always very rare and extremely pricey. I chased that set briefly, too, until those started popping up and made the set almost impossible for me.

Last year I sold a pair of Mccoveys, two different colors, for under $10. Maybe I should have held.

WOW that Ruth ended with a CRAZY price!!! I'm sure its worth it for the rarity...but man that price could get a nice certified Mantle cut

I've got these two plus quite a few bats here: http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/me ... ?start=all
