I'm not sure how many other collectors are aware of these but I'm wondering if perhaps some diehard player/team collectors might also be after these cards. These are the 2005 Zenith Z-Gold parallels, which were a retail exclusive. The only difference between the Z-Gold is that the gold foil on the front of the card has a refractor-y sheen to it, compared to the matte gold of the base card.
These cards are extremely difficult to find.. I would guess that it is a combination of rarity and also that they are pretty easy to overlook. I have (unsuccessfully) been looking for the Jake Westbrook for my player PC for 15 years now! Over the last two years, or so, I have been grabbing any that I can find at reasonable prices and I finally found my first Indians for my PC (Kevin Millwood). I've been posting about these in a few places and I'm hoping I can get a Westbrook to surface one day.
Whenever I find these cheap, I buy them. I came across a nice lot a few days back. If you are a fellow player/team collector and happen to be hunting for any that I have pictured, let me know. I also have a Yadier Molina incoming from COMC.. so I will have it in-hand in a few months.
