2006 Bowman Originals Issue (Non-Counterfeit)

My buddy has the following 2 cards:

Here are the serial numbers on the Topps "Authentication Sticker"

4678040
4678042

He sold both cards and the buyer tried to confirm their authentication via Topps. Here is Topps response:

Can anyone tell me if there is a place you can enter the serial numbers on the Topps Authentication sticker to confirm it is legit.

At least 1 (the Xfractor) was pulled from his store in front of him and I and we purchased the card from the customer.

Does the Topps Authentication sticker mean anything? If the buyer is wrong and we are wrong, please educate us.

Sadly there's no database of serial numbers. It makes no sense and really the best way would be to see where the serial number falls relative to others in the same set or of the same player. In your case, since they're both close to one another and you know one was pack-pulled, it's a safe bet that the other is legit as well. Obviously Topps didn't think this one through... ::facepalm::

Is it unfair to call Topps Authentication system worthless? You have an authentication sticker with a number that serves no purpose? Fantastic

Heres a great fact about those moronic stickers. They have zero tamper proof resistance. You can literally peel it off and place it on your window, take it off the window and place it on your Mantle rookie card. Thanks.....

Yeah, topps screwed the pooch with this one.
A ton of the Cano and especially the Pujols ones out there are fake!
