You've all probably read about the "Is this Jason Heyward Aflac Auto 2008 fake?"
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=120444
After reading it I figured I'd email the sellers with questions regarding the card, of course I recieved no replies until the card in question reached $250. Of course my question was short and sweet, "Is this card real?" The sellers first reply was:
Dear chrisgillam.619,
I bought the card from another ebay member under the notion that this is a real autographed card. So from my understanding it is real. I however will not guarantee the origin of the autograph since I do not know how it was put on there. All I know is that from the research I did I believe the real ones to have the hologram. I bought it from this guy slugsports. If you don't think it's real don't bid on it. Thanks!
So I replied, just to let him know I wouldn't be bidding on it:
Dear geoffb480,
Don't worry I won't be bidding on it. All the true cards were autographed with a blue sharpie which is alot thicker than whats on your card. So with that said it's funny that your describtion states 2006 Bowman AFLAC which didn't get autographed until 2008's set, so I guess your protected on the fact that your not decribing it the wrong way. You probably get in serious trouble if you were to list as 2008 Jason Heyward Aflac auto, which is the proper way. But you know the truth, that's why you're only listing it as a 2006 aflac, please note nothing about the autograph. So don't worry, I won't be bidding on this card due to it being shady along with how you listed it.
After sending the email I figured I wouldn't here back from him, and of course I didn't expect his response:
Dear chrisgillam.619,
I was unaware of the fact that there was a difference in the Sharpie Sizing. The card is actually a 2006 and was handed out at the game. This much I am clear on. You have brought up some interesting points in your forum that I was unaware of. Like I had stated I bought the card on ebay just like anyone else and I am under the impression that the card is authentic. But since you have brought up question of the card, I will not sell it to the winning bidder. Next time try informing the person that you are talking with instead of berating them and you will find the results to be better and more gratifying. However, I am sure that it is beyond you to do that
