Welcome to the board, fellow San Diegan!
In order to post pictures you need to upload them to a photo hosting website (most us use photobucket) and then link them in.

When you're posting, there is a toolbar above the box you are typing in and there is a button that sas "Img" Press that button and then paste the web address of your picture.
Hope this helps.

PS Where did you get the box?

thx for the welcome rebelpawn! ive been on this board for a few months now but havent cracked anything until now - my brother and i do our annual "crack party" and we get our boxes from our LCS at clairemont sportscards. a little more pricey than getting them online but its our way of supporting the guys there (bake and dave).

How are their prices in general? I frequent a shop in Santee - All Star Cards - and they seem to beat the one other shop I know of in Mission Valley on nearly everything. Their boxes are a tad pricy, so I save those purchases for online, but packs/singles/supplies are very reasonable in-store.

prices are fair. here are a few of the prices i can remember from my recent visit and you can compare:

2009 allen&ginter box: 119
2009 t206 box: 109

2009 football leaf limited box/pack: 129
2009 sp signature pack: 25
2009 spx pack: 25

they dont always have a huge selection of the higher end stuff but they do get a few here and there but it goes quick. they can order stuff for you if you know you want something though. they have a decent selection of singles and inserts available b/c of a lot of their regulars consign things to their store.

the thing that i like about these guys is they are truly good guys. they don't "search" packs or crack much on their own. i would hope most stores wouldnt do this nowadays esp. with so few of them left but back in the day, i knew a few stores that i wouldnt trust buying things from unless i was buying a sealed case from them.

hope that helps!

I agree 100%, Bake and Dave are the best. They've treated me very well over the years and I'll always buy from them. Box prices are usually kinda high but they do have a great collection of singles and they always pull stuff aside for me that they think I'll like. I've been to CJ's in Mission Valley and even though they have a better selection, I'll always go see Bake and Dave.

I'll have to check out Clairemont Sports Cards the next time I'm in the area. It sounds very similar to my shop in Santee - lots of cheap inserts/singles because of consignment shelves (my favorite for cheapy relics and autos!), although at All Star Cards I feel like they always have packs of EVERYTHING from the past 5 or 6 years unless they've recently sold out. My only true complaint is they don't always adjust pack prices over the years to keep up with the price of boxes (i.e. 07 Artifacts is still $7 a pack!)... although sometimes they do. Inconsistent, but that's what makes each trip fun, I guess!

You Need Igawa?

Hello,

I saw in your sig that you collect Japanese Players. Anyway you need up to 3 Igawa In-Person Signed Cards?

I may be interested. Do you have any scans? Please PM me the details and what you want for them.

Thanks.
