Great article on the 2011 draft class. Looks like about half the players in the 2010 Topps Chrome USA set will be first round picks in the 2011 draft! Despite the higher print runs, this will add a ton of value to the break as guys like Barnes, Bradley, Cole, Gray, and Springer should all be $50-$75 plus hits.

I worked with a decent number of the kids on that list, and having some ranked as high as they are, or as low is just laughable. I can't take it serious what so ever.

These will still sell very well. I like these National Team autos better than the 18 USA autos in Bowman Chrome as most of these guys have already had solid seasons in college this year. Seems to be more movement on the high school players leading up to the draft.

They should sell fairly well, but I don't think it will be a world changer value wise. If they were chrome, and had parallels then it would be a totally different ball game, but they are paper autos in a chrome set.

That might be one of the worst Top 100 lists I've seen.

No Matthew Purke?
No Alex Meyer?
No Trevor Bauer?
No Taylor Jungman?

Smokin' something wacky...

Oh, and no way Cole, Gray, etc are $75 hits. If their Patch/Autos don't get that much, I wouldn't expect non-#'d, overproduced, paper autos to exceed them.

He says at the top he's only ranking players he's scouted, so I would assume he hasn't scouted them. There's a bunch of people missing.

I guess, technically, we all scout players because we read every bit of info and watch tons of video.

The only player I can see hitting $75 is George Springer. Nothing out of him and his stock has been magnified.

Didn't Piliere scout for the Rangers for a couple of years? Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I thought he was an area scout. In which case I don't know how he didn't do any scouting at all on Purke and Jungmann.

*edit: I realize of course that it may not have specifically been his territory, but I can't imagine he never scouted a player Texas drafted and a high-profile player in-state.

I did some pricing speculation w/ market evidence. Check them out. (http://usafuturewatch.com/?p=352)

Also, if you scout Gerrit Cole, wouldn't you also scout Bauer at the same time?

I agree with your point on the two Texas players, if he was a former Rangers scout.

Great site. I agree that most of these autos will be about 25-30% higher than the prices you have listed. The Topps/Bowman name commands a huge premiums over any other card that might already have one of these guys featured.

From the latest total production numbers I saw tossed around on here (believe it was by BrentandBecca), looks like around 8,000 total cases. There's 23 USA players, so the math comes to approximately 350 autos per USA player.

Nice link.
Just a note. Some Gray Autos (multi color) have sold $30-$40. With 2 ending at $42

That's what I came up with too.

Looks like I was pretty close to the actual ending prices so far. Who knows where they settle though...
