EDIT: Updated with Box breakdown and Scans.
If you've followed any of my breaks, I've done quite a bit of 2011 Bowman. I did 1 of each type of case (Retail Box, Blasters, Value Box, Hobby, Jumbo). So far, I've done alright. Little bit of color, hit a base Harper Auto, a Superfractor, BPA Pineda x 2. Aside from the big hits, my breaks have been average.
I pre-ordered 2 more Jumbo cases (1 from AIC and 1 from DA). I was going to sit on them and see how things panned out with prices, but they were just begging to be opened. I'm not in this hobby for profit, but I do need to recover cost so that I can continue to rip new products. Anyway, I was following some of AIC's breaks, and for the most part, they haven't been crazy. So it got me thinking, what if the case I got from AIC has all the big hits. So I caved in. At first, I told myself, bust the first 4 boxes. If I don't hit anything good, stop. To help me make this decision, the tape on the box was already busted, so I couldn't sell it as a "Sealed" case.
Box 1/Pack 1: To start off by break, I pulled a Bryce Harper Blue Refractor /250! I didn't want to get my hopes up, but off to a good start.
(I'll get the box by box results tonight, but I can tell you I pulled 2 Gold Refractor Autos, 1 Gold Refractor, approx 3 Blue ref autos, Bryce Harper card in every box)
I busted the first 4 boxes and I was really happy with the results. So I decided to just finish the case. This is not a bad thing, but every box had similar amount of hits. (Exactly 3 Autos, 2-3 Refractors, 1 color ref, 2 blue border, 1 orange border, 1-2 variant of Bryce Harper). As my case break was winding down, although I had a great break, I was bummed that I didn't hit another Harper Auto. It was more wishful thinking...I realize the odds are not great for me to hit a 2nd Harper Auto, but I was just hoping.
Last Box/Last Pack: I flipped through the chromes and the inserts when I saw a numbered card in the middle of the pack. First I saw /55. Then it registered it was Bryce Harper!!! PURPLE! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I flipped the card over and to my surprise there it was. Purple and beautiful!
I just want to give a special thanks to Andrew for getting me the case at a great price. And to everyone that thinks this product is a failure, I beg to differ. 2011 Bowman has not disappointed. I realize people are having bad breaks, but I've done 6 cases now with great results. I realize it's mostly luck, but even without the BIG hits, it's been great. There is a lot to like about 2011 Bowman. Even better with the big HITS.
