Lets draft players no one knows so we can still say we drafted someone.... but we really have no plans on having these players play for our team.

is Kemba really that bad??? he was all world for the NCAA this year and still on the board with #8 to pick.... or are teams really that broke??

Im curious on how Jimmer Fredettes game will transfer to the NBA.

Also great news! Adam Morrison had a try out with the Chicago Bulls! Hope he makes it!

I guess the Kings are trying to spread the floor a bit so Tyreke can drive to the rim, and have some kick-out options in Jimmer and Salmons

Jimmer is a great kickout option, but all three even Salmons are great slashers. I feel opposing teams will get in foul trouble early and often. Kings will have a decent squad. D. Cousins should have more spacing with Jimmer on the floor as well.

I get not picking Kemba in the first couple spots......but from 4 on I would have given him a long hard look. Personally I still think Cleveland would have been much better off with the combo of Williams and Walker......but what do I know.

I do agree though that it was a pretty sad draft......It was unreal the amount of times that Jay Bilas said "He won't score much" or "He doesn't shoot well" (or some variation/combination of the two) in the 1st round. Then seeing stat lines of guys around 11.0 ppg and 6.0 reb's in college/Europe just seemed laughable.

I think youre right about Williams and Walker. Im not sold on Kyrie Irving, but hes 4 inches taller and much longer than Walker. BUT watching J.J. Barea break down defenses, I would like to have Kemba on my team to do the same thing.

LOL, Jay Bilas would say all that knowing he was on a microphone and everyone in the room could hear that, including players and family. I laughed a few times. Van Gundy is hilarious.

I'm a Uconn fan, so I should admit I'm sure I have some bias toward Walker.
Either way, glad someone agrees with me on the Walker/Williams thing. I just can't help but imagine those too (at the very least) could have created a lot of excitement.

Though I will say I understand why a team would pick Irving over Walker.....I get that...so it's just when you have to take Cleveland having both #1 and #4 into account.
Speaking of pick 4 - That was one of my favorite Bilas moments - when he said about Thompson: "He just needs to learn how to play and how to score".
 Pretty sure that's the kind of thing a coach doesn't want to hear about his number 4 pick. (Though since I'm laughing now I'm sure he'll turn into a beast)

I was thinking of this earlier this year but am I crazy to see a little bit of Allen Iverson in Kemba? I think he could easily be the steal of the draft.

I was glad to see another Kentucky player go to Detroit. Tayshaun has had a nice career there.

I can see that.
Not saying he'll ever be as good as this player - but to me he was more like Rose.
Part of that may be that I'm a Bulls and Uconn fan....so I was watching a ton of each, but the similarities were obvious to me. Really both good and bad.....as each was forced to shoulder a heavy load and be the primary (and often times only) scorer on teams that exceeded expectations. Also the quickness of each.....the ability to play the pick & roll and split defenders. The ability to create their own shot and uncanny abilities to finish at the rim.
Beyond scoring - each can fill out a stat sheet. So that was the parallel I saw.

He also could wind up a "steal" by default.....as it's not a stretch to think many of those guys picked ahead of him may not amount to much.

kind of relieved I don't have to track down any Pacers rookie cards this year since we traded our picks away, I can focus on 100% for my Paul George collection :D
