I belong to a google trading card group called Old Baseball Cards. There are about 120 members of the group. All the members have a want/trade lists of cards that they make on a webpage site. Where all the members can see the lists. The group has what they call RAOK (random acts of kindness) where they check other members want list to see what they can send without letting them know what they plan to send them. I've been member of the group for about 2 years. Another member sent me a good size envelope as a surprise RAOK. It had not one, but three 1963 Red Sox program/score cards ! How cool is that ? It's the best nicest gift I received in my 30 plus years of collection. The guy knew I was dealing with a bunch of medical issues this year and wanted to make me happy. He did make me happy. Thanks to Larry on the Old Baseball google groups !

Very cool! Nice gesture; glad to hear it arrived at time when it sounds like you could use the lift, too. Got any pics?

I discovered the group many years back, but when I found out I needed someone (or maybe multiple at the time) on the inside to vouch for new members, I didn't know anyone in the group at the time and moved on. I never pursued it further, but sounds like a decent group from what I hear.

Always cool when collectors help each other out for the fun of it. Makes collecting that much better. I have been the recipient of that type of kindness myself a few times and like to pay it forward myself where I can.

Out of 125 or so members, 3/4 are active with sending things to people. Some more so than others. If you would like, I could vouch for you. Like anywhere else. There are a very few people I won't deal with there
