Jimmer is going to be jimmering in Sacramento.

I would have taken him sooner. The only marketable player really. Well maybe the kid from Turkey - Kanter. He's going to be good I think.

again, kyrie irving will be a GREAT nba player.

this isn't a good draft but it's probably better than last year.

why does everyone think Irving will be great? - he played ten games at Duke and didn't look all that impressive.

wait and see on him. My feeling is he won't be close to Derrick Rose, John Wall or even Tyreke Evans good

i watched all 11 of his games and he did indeed look great. a point guard doesn't have to play for john calipari to be great. the foot injury was probably a fluke and if it was then he's basically chris paul. obviously there are risks but no greater than any other pick in recent memory - wall included.

Johnny Dawkins and Chris Duhon both have "remotely sniffed the NBA." Sadly Jayson Williams would have been better than any Duke PG. They're different coaches with different styles of play, A PG isn't as important in Duke's offense as it is in a Callipari's offense. Guard play usually rules in the NCAA tournament and Duke usually relies on the SG/SF. Care to look at the SD/SF position for Coach K and Callipari?

I'm rooting for Kemba. Kyrie will be a bust. Marshon Brooks to Memphis via boston was a good pick. And as a Michigan fan and a Lakers fan I'm pretty happy to see Darius Morris get drafted by the Lakers. Even though he should have stayed in college one more year.

Johnny Dawkins - wow - he was good though I'll give you that; Duhon - like I said not so much

Coach K has the Rings - I'll give him that - Great college coach; I agree with all you said ; you essentially made my point why not to draft Irving.

I love all the hype in the local media about the Boston draft picks. Just like each of the last 3-4 years, they will not play and will be dumped in a trade or released in a few years.

I guess what baffles me is that you can pick a guy like Knight over Walker because of his "potential" and "upside", but then that's acting as if there is no way Walker can also improve.
Which to me seems foolish considering he has actually shown that he can make ridiculous improvements in the course of a year.

So Knight can improve, but Walker can't be in the gym today improving his outside game and his effectiveness working the point? It seems silly to me.
Walker was more of a "true pg" anyway his first two years at Uconn. All he did was take his game to another level and did everything that was asked of him, which was dictated by the circumstance and the players around him. He was basically the NCAA version of Derrick Rose. Even this year Walker's Pure Point Rating was 1.5 where Knight's was (-1.5). The NBA avg. is 1.2.

Since this is mostly about Kemba - I will say I do understand there is concern because of his size. Though that wouldn't have scared me too much if I was a GM.....because he has elite speed and ball-handling skills. He showed an uncanny ability to create his own shoot and finish at the rim. He was most effective in isolations and pick & roll situations (able to split defenders) which is pretty much the NBA game. Then to top it off, he played well on defense and would grab 5 or 6 boards a game.

The Portland Trailblazers got a great pick in the 2nd round: Jon Diebler out of Ohio State.

Can shoot just as well as a J.J. Reddick. Stands 6'6" with great basketball IQ.

2nd Rounders for the most part will be out of the league or bouncing around the D-League once their rookie contracts are up, but I hope Diebler will strive in the NBA.

I was bummed that Marshawn Brooks didn't fall to the Bulls.......or since that was a long shot, I was bummed they weren't the team able to swing a deal for him.

Figured that he may have been the only player in that late first round range that could have potentially helped the team with their biggest need (SG/Scoring).
