I am posting a single message on this topic to address posts in another thread on the site.

1> The Kevin Durant card in question is absolutely authentic. I am aware of the source of these signatures (as PSA is).
These were absolutely signed by Kevin Durant during his tenure as an Upper Deck Exclusive. Anyone who states these are not authentic is 100% WRONG. DEAD WRONG.

2> This is intentional and we have full knowledge of what these cards are. These very clearly have a PSA/DNA flip (not PSA grading). These cards are designed to provide collectors with highly collectible signed rookie cards that never were (mainly weak players signed in these sets). We stand by the inclusion of these cards as they are highly collectible in their current state/condition. While every collector may not love these (and everyone is entitled to an opinion), they are absolutely collectible and appear to be $85-125 cards. WE DID NOT LIST THESE ON THE CHECKLIST WITH ROOKIE CARDS, BUT WITH THE SIGNED BUYBACK CARDS.

3> Autographed Rookie Buyback cards are clearly a featured element in this product. The checklist on our website: http://www.leaftradingcards.com/2011_Leaf_Rookie_Retro/2011_Leaf_Rookie_Retro_Checklist.pdf clearly shows possible buyback autographed rookie cards and clearly shows the inclusion of these cards.

Finally, I am extremely disappointed with those members who have posted baseless claims denouncing the authenticity with completely no clue on either his signature nor the origin of these autographs. It is not only irresponsible but is frankly complete libel.

I will be the first to correct any errors or quality control issues. In this case, it is neither. These are highly collectible cards listed on our checklist and 100% authentic beyond question.

I will not reply to posts in this thread as we are no longer engaging in discussions on the message board.
If you have a legitimate question, I will be happy to answer by PM.
If you wish to voice disappointment and you actually purchased the product, feel free to PM and I will certainly hear your feedbaack.
If you are merely posting in hopes of stirring up controversy, I would suggest finding another topic, as there is no controversy here.

Legitimate question here, Durant signed these cards for Topps while under an Upper Deck contract?

I have no idea what a Durant auto looks like so I'm not worried about the authenticity. It's just those stickers man... Yes, I know I'm like a broken record, but I'm a HUGE fan of your PSA DNA signed on-card RCs. They look awesome. Couldn't you just get more of those instead? No joke, this topic came up at the shop today and it quickly became the butt of many jokes. PSA DNA stuff is just meant for on-card IMO.

No hate towards Leaf from me. I've been a huge supporter this year and bought a ton of Ali and Rose. Its just those stickers...

For it to be a "buyback" (emphasis on the BACK).. wouldn't you have had to produce the card initially?

Technically, they're just "buys".

I do not have a dog in this fight.

This post brought a smile to my fat little face.

Re: ADDRESSING QUESTIONS ON RRR (please read)

I'm just wondering how Leaf can call the authentication questions "baseless"? Isn't that what this forum is for? To discuss things like this? We ALL know that PSA DNA and JSA have made mistakes in the past. Remember the "authentic" Mcguire auto that was a stamp?

Bottom line is, sticker autos in PSA DNA slabs are not common. Of course this is going to get people talking.
Sure its 99.99% authentic. But the chance for error exists and as a community, people were just discussing it. If people crossed the lines into blatant "Leaf bashing," that is another story.

I've said this before about Dr. Price, but threats of litigation always drive customers to buy more product.

If I needed surgery I would seek a second opinion; I mean this message board is nice to talk through ideas but you guys are nothing more than witch doctors.

I have listed the Durant [ebay:3d0pttrx]130619287321[/ebay:3d0pttrx]and paid the $7.49 to PSA/DNA for a "Quick Opinion". I will post the results when they return; PSA/DNA claims 48 hours or less. This should satisfy all of those that are interested. I am doing this since I am the current owner and if I sell it I want to be confident in its authenticity since third party grading companies provide opinions and this will be two independent opinions.

So if PSA/DNA questions its authenticity, does Brian Gray tell them it's irresponsible and complete libel? Things that make you go hmmm...

Good luck with your result.

No one is trolling. Genuine concern is expressed, and now we get a "don't question me" response? Come on. You don't instill confidence through threats.

Yeah what the hell is that? I've never said a bad thing about BG or his company but I feel like I was just threatened by opening this thread and reading that post. Definitely a great way to help your sales.

ADDRESSING QUESTIONS ON RRR (please read)

Threats against users can't be good for business or FCB for that matter.

Thanks for the grandstanding and threats BG...we missed you.

I'm going to ask one question as a person who owns fairly limited leaf/razor products.

Chas, what would your reaction be if there were unsubstantiated claims being made against your company that had an opportunity to cause damage?

If you were a business owner and people were taking shots at you that could make people shy away from you, would you be ok with that.

I'm not talking about those who dont like the product but those who are willing to make claims with no proof? I'm pretty sure many of us would go to great pains to protect our reputations and our financial interests...

Re: ADDRESSING QUESTIONS ON RRR (please read)

To clarify:

If you read the original thread, numerous members stated as FACT this this signature is not authentic.

These members are not only 10000% wrong, but I believe they acted completely reckless and irresponsible in stating their non-expert opinions as fact.

BG

p.s.- I am not litigious. I was merely pointing out that the behavior was really that egregious.
