I don't use one touches or top loaders. Card savers keep the penny sleeve and card tight with no movement. Cards move around in top loaders, and can do the same in one touches. Thats just my personal opinion

Safer, as in provides more protection in transit compared to other holders? Absolutely.

Toploaders + sleeve are sufficient if placed in a team bag or taped shut (I'm not going to beat that horse, but I"ll just say either way works if done right), but the sturdiness of a one-touch provides added protection against bending. Do put the one-touch in a team bag and seal it though, since it's possible for the package to be dropped while in transit and the holder could pop open and the card may fall out if the holder isn't secured.

Card savers provide slightly less bend protection than the average top loader, but is sufficient as long as the PO handles the package properly (not holding my breath on this one).

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being top notch protection: I'd say One-TOuch: 9, top loader: 6, card saver: 5 (and PWE with no sleeve or toploader: 1 ;) )

Well thats true on card savers. But when I ship, I tape it between two pieces of thick cardboard.

Generally though, I ship cards out in top loaders and 1 touches. I use card savers for storing my collection

No. safer for protection for my cards stored in wwe dvd tins. I was really meaning to ask if these things cause any damage to an auto/card in the long run!

I did some testing of One-Touch vs Top Loaders.

I put a card in each and secured the holders with a Team Bag.

Dropping both from 5ft proved that both offered fine protection.

Next I decided to hurl them at some cement stairs (really). I found that the edges and corners of a One-Touch would break, but not enough to damage a card. On the other hand, the Top Loader broke when thrown and the corners of the card was damaged, bad.

So, under realistic circumstances they are both fine, but the thickness of the hard plastic of the One-Touch protected better in extreme conditions.

Top Loader Pros - Cheap
One-Touch Pros - UV Protection, Sturdy Plastic

In that case, I would prefer soft sleeve + either toploader or card saver. If the card fits tightly in a one-touch, it may be possible for ink on an auto to rub onto the surface of the one-touch holder. I can't verify whether this will happen, but I wouldn't chance it myself. I've stored some autographs in the same sleeve/top loader for 10+ years (kept in a dark dry drawer, out of direct sunlight), and they are fine.
