Two years ago, I was in a bidding war for one of these, and it got away from me. I am now lucky enough to have the 2/5 Bagwell plaque.

I don't know if they are in the Beckett, but these were put out by Playoff Absolute in 2002, the year before they did the glass plaques. I have a glass plaque from 2003 of Bagwell. Used to have a Berkman, but sold it. The glass plaques from 2003 aren't as rare as these ones, as I recall. My Bagwell 2003 plaque is 15/15.

This Bagwell 2002 Absolute plaque is a limited edition of 5, and I got 2/5. I got into a bidding war over one of them a couple of years back. I remember that it was the night before my b-day, and I was so pissed that this guy kept raising the price. It ended for $320, and I simply was not willing to pay that much. But I was able to get this one for an offer of $200.

Glad to finally have it!

I hate doing it that way, since I get so nervous. Plus, I am going back to school this weekend, and I wanted to have it before I left. What happens with me is sometimes I see that an item I want has few bids going down to the wire. Then, I just forget and lose what could have been a great deal. I had that happen to me with a pair of Bagwell cleats. I lost track of time, and they went for $43. I actually just bought them from the winning bidder, but they cost me a whole $200. Do you use a snipe program?

Beckett lists them as Absolute Memorabilia Signing Bonus and there are four Biggios (each /7), one for every color of jersey the Astros wore: white, grey, pinstripe and red. The one I have is pinstripe also.

You should definitely look into a snipe program. I don't understand people who bid early. They are just running up the price for themselves, if they really want the item. What good does it do to be the winning bidder with two days left?

No I use me, myself ,and I! :lol:

Seriously though no...I simply do it on my own.My internet, when it actually freaking works, is pretty fast.So I can put in a bid with literally 10 seconds left and still get it in in time to count.Another little trick you can do is sometimes you can bid twice.Make one bid and then raise it a little.When people see you made two bids they know you made a bid and then increased it.That usually turns me away.Usually....

You do need to work some way out of doing this though.It will save you some money.

I only collect really rare stuff. Plus, there are only a few sets that truly interest me. If the item is oddball or one of a kind, then I am likely to bid. I haven't gotten into too many bidding wars of late, as the Bagwell stuff I'm looking for rarely pops up.
