Didn't see a post yet. I felt Uehara may have been the best reliever on the block. Seems like a mediocre haul- would have liked to have a seen a bit more potential coming the O's way. Davis is a blast from the prospecting past.

Love this trade for the Rangers!! Did not have to give up any of their Top prospects for bullpen help.

Between Davis and Mark Reynolds, opposing pitchers are going to feast on the swinging K.

A Mighty Wind.

A good trade for the Rangers I think. Hunter wasn't going to get back into the Rangers rotation. He showed more velocity in the pen and was a decent reliever. Davis had just run out of chances in Texas. He is a great defensive 1b and a pretty bad 3rd. Maybe he returns to his 2008 form but I doubt. Uehara has been pretty dominant the last two years and has a decent option for 12. It does make our bullpen pretty old but it is what it is. Maybe picking Uehara up means we won't be so quick to overpay the Padres and we still have our prospect chips to make a big splash.

Happy here.
Koji is VERY injury prone.
Good luck to you Ranger fans.

Same to you. Love both Davis and Hunter but they really had no chance here in Texas. I hope they both pan out for the Orioles. I will be rooting for them.

As a Rangers fan I actually don't like this trade for a few reasons:

1. Uehara is 36 years old.
2. We have absolutely no long relief guy now.
3. Davis still has a boatload of potential. Is there a chance he's a bust? Of course, but take a look at the list of late bloomers (Ludwick, Gordon, Morse, etc.). Even Ryan Howard was Davis' age before making an impact. I just hate for them to give up on the guy.

Don't worry.
He won't bloom until AFTER he leaves the O's.

Uehara's great and I hope he does well for Texas. He is certainly far more valuable to a contending team than to a cellar dweller.

It'll be interesting to see what Chris Davis does with steady playing time. I'm not terribly optimistic given the Orioles' and MacPhail's track records.

am i the only one who thinks the rangers got *****?

hunter won double digit games last year and i believe davis will eventually hit in the majors... hulk smash style...

Hunter has no spot in the Rangers rotation and Davis is just another Mark Reynolds if he is lucky. Besides, with Perez, Ramirez, Erlin, Wieland and company still in the farm system coming on quickly, they don't need Hunter.

the bell trade if finalized at terms makes the hunter trade more confusing to me.

It'll be interesting to see if Davis thrives in that stadium.

It would seem to be tailor-made for his hitting and it (and the PEDs) made Jay Gibbons look pretty good for a while...
