What are your thoughts on the 2008 bcdp aflac autographs?

The prices have come down quite a bit (other than heyward, freddie, and bumgarner).

Is price being driven down because of the flooded market?

Do you think the prices will drive back up in season and when people stop cracking so many cases???

Thoughts?

I think they're a "good investment."

They're not bad investments, but they're not great investments either. Just my opinion.

I might as well give my opinion. I love these cards. I think it was a great idea and think they are really nice looking cards.

flooded market?

surely there are more than 250 collectors that will want these autos of players that move up in the prospect ranks. Dear god, what happens if one of these players is a superstar?

Well I now own 5 Porcellos AFLAC autos so I'm going to go with "Good Investments" for $1000, Alex!

Considering that these puppies are fetching close to what the base Aflac was selling for, I would say these are about as good of an investment as there is. Just like what Gilmore said, if one of these dudes turns into a superstar, $$$$$$

For the current prices on some of them, Adrian Nieto for example, I just paid $3.50 for one.. put the card away for a year... could be a great investiment

I think they are going to be better than people think. Right now people "feel" like there are tons of them, and they can be faked. In the end I believe people will find out they don't show up nearly as much later on. Two, there won't be as many fakes as people worry about. A) because the non autos are just as rare. B) It would take some work to get the players to sign them in the exact same fashion (pen, area, etc.).

I guess someone could forge the sigs. But then they would probably stick out.

Pull rate + No Serial Numbering + Poor Quality Control + Potential Fakes Galore = Poor Investment

I am avoiding like the plague. This all reminds me of the 2004 Fleer Hot Prospect Die-Cut Autos.

Actually, not at all. I have been buying the few non-autos I like, slowly. I will be buying one top auto once prices hit the bottom point. I am mostly angry at the way they handled the product as a company, as well as how their employees market the product to us, the consumer.

I just saw the whole AFLAC fiasco from the game, along with how these were handled, and I know better than to buy them.
