I'm debating who will be the better 2014 investment. Who will see a bigger jump in card values before the end of this season?

Obviously they have prospect rankings for a reason and Buxton tops ALL the rankings...so note that this is not a straight "who is better" discussion.

Buxton will have the hype train going when he comes back but how serious is the wrist issue and will it have any lingering effects? Polanco isn't as highly touted but he could be an impact player in Pittsburg THIS YEAR when he gets there. Both are similar 5-tool talents with impressive speed/power combos and should be great long term ballplayers.

Any thoughts?

My initial thought would be Polanco since Pittsburgh will be in the playoff race and his prices aren't already sky high like Buxton, but then again if Buxton lights up AA when he returns and is able to earn a September call-up then prices could jump. If I had to pick one to jump I would say Polanco.

In the short term, I'd say Polanco sine he'll be called up by June and Buxton might be a push for a September call-up.

Polanco is cheaper and has a better chance for a full/healthy season, plus the prospect of a call-up in a few months
