Blast from the Past.......Ugueth Urbina

Ugueth Urbina has been released from a Venezuelan prison after serving 5 1/2 years for attempted murder.

For those who don't remember Ugueth was given a 14 year prison sentence in March 2007 after being accused of attacking and injuring workers with machetes and pouring gasoline on them at his family's ranch in October 2005.

He was released for good behavior.

How long before he signs with a MLB team ??

Anyone here know about the Urbina - Tigers plane incident that occurred shortly before the Tigers traded Urbina to the Phillies for Polanco? I've searched the web and find many references to it but not much more.

Urbina is hardcore.

I remember when he was with the Expos. The most notable thing about him was that he's the only MLB'er with the initials UUU.

Only Major Leaguer to have UU or UUU as initials. I didn't learn that from Wikipedia. I learned it from the back of a baseball card.
