Anybody else watching this ---- man Cubs fans are morons.

it's just as much Bernie Mac's fault for saying "champs" during 7th inning stretch

but in reality - they should have pissed at Alex Gonzalez.

I thought I had heard and seen everything you could ever imagine about Bartman and Buckner but this is fantastic. I feel sorry for both of them.

Loving the show!

I had never heard the story about how the scoreboard Congratulated the Sox pre-maturely and Buckner wearing a Cubs glove under his fielding glove. Weird...

I also didn't know they "cooked" the ball strings and put them in some Sauce or else that would have been a possible relic piece, like the Hair pieces...

Ugh. I feel horrible after watching that. At that time I was living a short drive from the AA West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx. At that time they were the minor league affiliate of the Cubs. I had a unique connection to the Cubs through the guys I had literally got to know in the minors. I was there for Game 1 of the NLCS, a game I still call the best live sporting experience of my life even though the Cubs lost. I remember watching the play from my home office.

So many people were waiting for something to happen so it was easy to overreact when it happened. For those of you unaware a group of guys from Chicago had even taken a goat to Houston to reverse the curse in the home stretch of the pennant race.

One thing missing from the report was that in 2008 Moises gave a quote about the play. In it he said he wouldn't have caught it anyways. Maybe Moises was trying to be nice. In any case I wonder why Moises changed his story again.

Either way it was a most unfortunate situation. You have to get an uneasy feeling when you watch something like that.

The ball sold for over $113,000. I have a picture of the ball on display at Harry Caray's.

After seeing many replays on the show tonight, I'm convinced Alou was in position to catch that ball. JMHO.

I think Moises had a play on it personally. Just pointing out that in 2003 Moises said he timed it perfectly to make the catch. In 2008 he said he wouldn't have caught it. Now he says he would've had it.

Alex Gonzlez was also in the perfect position to not boot a routine double play grounder.
Dusty was in a perfect position to go out and calm his pitcher and infield down after Alou's hissy fit
and...the Cubs were in the perfect postion to not give up 8 runs AFTER the "Bartman" play...AND lose game 7 which they lead 3-0

In all seriousness though, if the guy had just done a few interviews right away, they'd have left him alone years ago...jmho

I just watched the play and Alou certainly had a shot...but the ball was in foul territory.

Either way he was the 'scape goat.

I was in the upper deck down the 3rd base side and could look down on the street during the game. Unbelievable atmosphere even at Game 1. People standing shoulder to shoulder everywhere you looked. The thing I remember most was that someone was dressed like a tree.

On another "omen" note it is worth noting that Red Sox groundskeepers began painting a 2003 World Series logo on the field while the Sox were in New York. Of course the Sox did not play in the 2003 World Series.

i remember them panning to the streets around wrigley on tv during that game. the place was absolutely mobbed. i hang around fenway most playoff games that i dont have tickets to, and i never saw it that crowded. although 04 alcs game 7 was almost that packed and mind you the sox were on the road. id add that the 07 alcs game 7 was slightly less crowded around the park than 04 alcs game 7 and 07 was a home game. menino is always happy when series clinching games are on the road

ive never been to chicago, but i really want to go to wrigleyville at some point in my life. it seems like the best baseball neighborhood in mlb, and i would say fenway/kenmore is 2nd

I've never understood peoples fascination with interviewing him, scapegoating him, or vilifying him. Of course we can't just let him be.
