Charles Barkely cert autos...

Anybody know how many different certs he has. I know he had autographics back in the day. Anybody own any of those. I hope Leaf and BG get a deal done with him and he has some affordable autos on market at some point.

Barkley has 2 autographics... 07-08 and 99-00.. he also has a Fleer Fresh Ink Auto from 99-00.... that would be it

So all his certs are of him in Rockets jersey.

Wonder what Leaf will do if they do get some kind of deal done with him. Will be limited on what photos they can use on cards.

Years ago, Scott from Panini said they offered him a blank check and he declined, so not sure if anyone can get him.
In 2003, UD had some redemptions for full size Barkely auto jerseys. I bought a redemtpion for $225 on ebay and I have it displayed in my mancave. I actually pulled a redemption for a Bird the same year.

Anybody ever keep track of what his cert autos sold for. That first autographics was super sp wasn't it? I'm sure most are in hands of collectors overseas, where a lot of high end NBA goes.

I'm pretty sure if Leaf does produce cards there won;t be any team associated.
If they do use a pic from his playing days I think everything will have to be air-brushed out......and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't just have a current pic of him on the card and have it say something like "Basketball".

Barkley also has a 99 UD Encore (97 buyback) Jersey auto'd /4. An extremely hard card to find. The last one sold well past $2000. His 97 autographics are the cards to have. He has a regular version and a Century addition numbered to /100. His fresh ink does sell as well as the others for some reason.

There is also a Leaf (I think) cut out there on ebay that sold for $350 recently. I offered that seller $400 and he turned me down. I guess my $400 wasnt worth the $350 he sold it to someone else for.

Such a sweet card is his first autographics. I remember that one and Reggie Miller were all the rage. I'm sure BG will come up with some creative photos for cards in the Barkley set.

Is it confirmed that Leaf signed him?
I have not seen it, it was only mentioned during the whole double secret reveal of Ichiro.

No they haven't signed him yet, but I believe Brian is working on it. I remember back in the day Target had value packs where you got 1 Autographics insert in each pack, and Barkley was included. I got Shawn Kemp as my best one, but no Barkley. One day I'll get an auto of his.

This is one if those items that my kids will have to deal with after I'm gone.
I will have to scan a photo I bought at a pawn shop for $10 that I'm pretty sure is the real deal. The guy had no idea what it was.

I wonder if/when BG gets this done. If odds are similar to ALI, maybe where 1 Barkley auto every other case. 10 boxes/packs a case. What kind prices would you pay for case? You figure Barkley wants to get paid like Ali did for rights to a set like this. It won't be cheap.

Can Barkley carry a product like Rose and Ali? Maybe a product based around the Dream Team? Those GU and auto cards were very popular in Panini this year. I could see a set based around that team being very popular. I don't know what kind of rights you'd need to produce that set, but it could be very cool.

Base set includes card for each member of the team, one card for each game of the olympics, one card for each stat leader (ppg, rpg, apg, spg, blks etc...), and some off the court cards of the guys hanging out or during practices. Each card has a metal version with bronze, silver and gold refractors.
Inserts sets including a Crusades set like the new Leaf baseball product.
GU cards with swatches from the USA jerseys
Autos of players and "fans of the Dream Team" including celebrities and other athletes

I never buy boxes and I'd bust that product.
