Sent my signed Mark Fydrich SI cover that features him next to Big Bird to the dude that wears the Big Bird costume Carroll Spinney. He's like 70 and is still the bird. At any rate got it back today signed in about 12 days with a letter talking about the day they shot the cover. Spinney said they were playing the Yankees and he wanted to meet Yogi Berra but when he walked by the Yankee dugout in costume on the way to the photo shoot, Berra spit his dip at him. Pretty interesting story and note. Class guy all the way. He also drew a sketch of big bird on my return envelope. Just thought I'd share this one.
