You brought it up as a topic, that is why it is being discussed and like you said, NY decided to go with prioritization instead of purchasing the ventilators. Why attack the President for a decision the state made?
But, as usual, you fail to address the LIE that both Trump and your favorite Pundit site just said. On air.

That’s why I brought it up...

That they didn’t buy ventilators to prepare for a pandemic?
No, he and The Gateway Pundit both LIED about the circumstances of it and the fact that his own health board recommended against it.

That’s why I brought it up but yet you fail to acknowledge their lies. Again.

Why?

Didn't President Trump say that NY chose not to buy ventilators? And didn't the study say that they would be short of ventilators in a pandemic? Did the Governor agree with the report and determine that instead of buying ventilators they would ration them? Why are they blaming President Trump for the ventilator shortage? Rationing was the strategy they chose.

So essentially you'd like to pass the blame to the states?

The president of the United States is ultimately responsible for the preparedness and safety of the country.

Trump is responsible for the outcome of the Trump Flu.

He has tweets that prove he understood that prior to becoming president.

Of course all the states should have their own plans in place on how to deal with disasters and emergencies. The Federal Government supports the states, they don't run them.

Sorry...that's not how being the President works. The federal government was not prepared for this pandemic with the president spending weeks saying this wasn't a big deal. We are now hours away from having the largest amount of people who have tested positive.

Serious question. How exactly would President Trump make NY buy more ventilators to prepare for a pandemic? And if it is the President's job to make sure NY has enough ventilators for a pandemic, shouldn't President Obama have forced them to do it when the study identified a shortage in 2015?

Stop being obtuse and avoiding the main point. The federal government and the president were not prepared and have handled this poorly. You can try to deflect to something else but it doesn't change anything.

The ventilators were what we were discussing until you interjected, so the question still stands.

You are out of the depth!

Trump appeared to be dramatizing a report from a New York Department of Health task force in 2015 which predicted that, if faced with a pandemic like the 1918 Spanish flu, New York would run into a ventilator shortage to the tune of 15,000. The report was recently resurfaced by Betsy McCaughey, a former lieutenant governor of New York and supporter of Trump since 2016, who wrote an op-ed about it in the New York Post. Her op-ed was later picked up by the far-right blog Gateway Pundit.

The report, however, did not recommend that New York Health Department should have stocked up on ventilators, nor did it find a low-cost option to do so, as Trump indicated Tuesday. Instead, the 2015 report acknowledged that New York should instead prepare for a moderate scenario and rely on federal resources if faced with a severe scenario.

Nobody should be focused on why they are short at this time, the issue again should be are we doing enough, today, to course correct any deficiencies in order to respond and save lives? NY appears to be pulling out all the stops while President Numb Nuts wants to go to church on Easter and not use his ability to help speed up getting more into the hands of Americans that need them now

He's too busy worrying about his "numbers"

He can't help himself...I think PINO is a perfect nickname for him.

He's rambling like a senile old man.

Did they consider that in a national emergency that the Federal Government would need to support 51 other states along with NY? And did Governor Cuomo check with Schumer, Obama, Biden and all the other politicians that have been in charge of the Federal Government for years/decades to make sure the Federal Government had the supplies that they would need when they decided not to buy the ventilators?

He didn’t need to since he knew that any competent Admin would easily fill the needs of its states within weeks of starting to tackle the problem.

But when this incompetent band of clowns did NOTHING for three months in preparation, he was left with only what he could gather. IF Trump and his dopey aides had done it properly, in January or so when their own Intel briefings started warning of it, we wouldn’t be having this, or any other talks of things being so dire...

Again...stop moving the goalposts.

You pointed to that as your point...you had it wrong.
