Hey guys, I'm working on a new custom cut signature set that I'm going to make. All of the signatures will be on a paper with a basketball-like texture; just like UD Sweet Shot.

Anyhow, here's the mock-up. (I know that it's not a Chamberlain auto shown, just pretend it is)

I feel like it needs something else, and I just can't quite put my finger on it. So I've brought it to you guys for suggestions...

What does it need?

A pic of the player somehow? I personally don't buy cut autos w/out a pic of the player. Its just a personal preference though.

I think if you could incorporate the court lines that run on a real court around the borders and such would make it pop a little more without adding too much color/detail :D A+++ already and its not even to your standards yet 8-)

I have to ask....how do you corporate a picture onto that card?? Doesn't look like there is a lot of room to do that, unless you want a tiny pic which IMO it would look worse.

I think it is fine as is.

I wish I had some sort of photo editing program. I have an idea in mind but it's hard to explain.

I would like to put a pic on there, but it's not going to work with the design because I left a lot of room for the signature (since that's the main part of the card)

I will put a pic on the backs of them.

Maybe something in the upper left and right corners like this?:

Opinions? Or maybe logos in the corners?

Too much IMO

It was fine as it was originally....

Flip the first "A" around. Lessen the black border around the cut to about half its thickness or just do away with it altogether. Use a different font on the bottom. That bottom text is just running together to me.

I'd suggest adding a small pic in the middle, enclosed in an oval or something like that near or around the top of the card or possibly on the bottom. You use the word 'signature' twice on the card, so I'd get rid of the bottom phrase 'authentic cut signature' or else make it small/tiny and place it on a side of the auto in order to make room for the pic as described above.

A tiny pic isn't going to look good at all unless you want to cut off part of the signature.

This is comming from someone who hates pictureless cuts, but as for this design it works well without one.

Sure it would. Even with an oval smaller than the one below. We don't know how big the sig is to begin with anyway.

Sigs on basketballs are much larger than any photo, baseball, etc....so the pic would have to be a little tiny face snapshot, wouldn't be worth it IMO.

I know cuts look better with pics, but I just don't see this particular set looking better with a small pic. Maybe it's just me. :?

EDIT: I guess he is not using real basketball autos.... :(

Well, this kinda changes the whole scheme of your card, but I was playing around and came up with this. Obviously I didn't have your text so I did the best I could to take yours and make it white. It will also need better picture blending for the top right pic. This is my first attempt at designing a card so give me some slack, lol.

^^ I reversed the image on the right so it blends better. As I said before, this is the first time I've attempted anything like this. Thoughts?

Looks good, and know I see how you wanted to incorporate the photo into the card.

Only thing I don't like is how it draws your eyes off of the signature itself, which should be the main focal point of the card.

Once again, just my $.02

I can see where your coming from. I just don't like cards that are too plain. Just a personal preference though.
