Elite Question?

So I'm seriously thinking about buying a Black Status 1/1 auto of a prospect that hasn't had really any parallel action lately and I was wondering if anybody knows the rate of increase between parallels in 2010 Elite Extra Edition.

Really all depends on the player, team, and the amount of other releases.

Thanks for the info. The player is Taijuan Walker since he only has a Elite and Sterling auto I thought that maybe it is reasonable to go off the recent 175 Black Sterling Auto /25 and double that price to get in the price range of the Elite 1/1 but other people have told me that that is a crazy idea. I'm new to prospecting kind of still only been in it for like a year now and things like these still kind of confuse me.

Well he only has 2010 products right now with autographs and the lowest 2010 went was the Black and Red Refractors, and like I said above a ungraded black recently sold for 175ish. The only Elite autographs that have sold are base autographs and they only go in the $10-17 dollar range.

Oh, my bad. Thought is was a 2011 issue.
If a black recently sold for $175, I could see the black selling in the $500 range if not more.
Depends how many people are looking for it, if the card is at auction, how long it's listed for, and if the card is for sale now, while his prices are hot. Again, alot to factor.

As someone who is very interested in the card as well, I think your offer of $300 could be misconstrued as insulting (I'm not saying you're wrong following your logic, but I really think this card will bring a premium considering he only has two autographed rookie cards). Realistically, if that card hit eBay, I think it would be right at $500-$700.

I don't know about that. He is a "pet prospect" of FCB right now as someone put it but based off JP's Matt Moore black status auto sale last year while Moore was destroying upper levels of MiLB (the likes of which Walker hasn't sniffed) I'd say $300 isn't as far off as you make it sound. At the time Moore had no other auto except maybe ITG and I believe the sale was in the $525 range, maybe $550. I'm sure JP remembers but I don't think Walker is near the prospect Moore was then.

The Walker 1/1 was on a BIN of $499.99 and did not get hit, at least before that one bid was placed. It's a very nice card, but I don't think it'd eclipse 450 at the moment. I could be wrong, but it's incredible how low some 1/1 Black Status Autos sell. That said, it certainly has potential to sell much higher going forward.

Black status autos can be all over the place in price. At 2009 elite release I bid a ridiculous amount to win the James Jones black and thankfully Wossa bid a ludicrous amount and blasted himself into plaid...

I sold the Moore 1/1 before his prices really started to rise (prior to his no-hitter in AA).

One thing to remember though with Taijuan Walker, he doesn't have a Bowman Chrome autograph, so technically, this is his best autographed rookie card (it is as good if not better than Sterling imo).
