Probably because the Yanks don't yet need two DHs posing as catchers on the MLB roster.

Montero is just a little more then a DH and besides we have a DH now who is hitting .161
Pena offers nothing to the yanks. Laird is on the 40 man roster and would have been a better addition if IF help is what they were after

This is outstanding news. I have been buying up his stuff for a while, and thought it would take until June/July to unload it, if not longer. You can almost make the case this guy has been underrated this year-his numbers are just ridiculous-.439 avg, 3 HR, 15 RBI, 21 runs, 19 BB/16 K, 3 SB and a, wait for it..... .525 OBP!

Yet, his cards actually dropped in price the last week or so, until the news of his call up. I can't wait to see how this kid does. Seems like he is as good of a hitter as there is in the minors.
