FAKE??? Hank Aaron 2001 Leaf Certified Jersey Patch 3-CLR

I need your opinion here, I believe this to be fake, but I am always skeptical nowadays, especially with the black border frame being tattered.

I would definitely ask for a better pic of the card. Better lighting and close-up magnification.

yeah its bulging out and there are marks around the sides of the opening, signs of obvious tampering. horrible fake IMO

I agree that it seems suspicious, but the seller seems a little ignorant to be a patch faker. Here's my logic. You would think that in order to first have the idea to fake a patch you have to be at least somewhat knowledgeable about the hobby and the workings of ebay with such patches and their premiums. Therefore, you would think that such a knowledgeable/semi-knowledgeable person would create a better auction. The title and descriptions are terrible and it's just an overall bad auction for a "high-end" card. However, on the other hand, it could just be some dumb kid who overheard a card shop owner discussing ebay patch fakers with another customer and decided he'd try to get rich quick. Just thought I'd add something new to the conversation. Sick and bored at home, lol.

I was under the impression that the patch pieces in 2001 LCM were only on the rarer versions of the card (jersey number and century versions). This Aaron is the base Legendary Material, thought those were just plain jerseys.

Some great patch pieces do appear in this product. But specific to your situation, being the common Legendary Material and having such a chipped frame around the patch, I'm guessing fake.

My opinion is that it's real. Not saying that it is, but just because it's not a Century or Jersey Number doesn't mean it can't have a patch in it.
