First Bat Knob Pickup!

Been pretty much allocating all of my card funds to prime patches, but now that I have a huge chunk of the HOFers, with only a few rare exceptions, I've decided to go after more rare stuff (knobs, barrels). This is my first true knob pickup from a really reputable seller on eBay though it has not arrived yet. Not sure if I got a good deal or not but I'm super excited for this one.

I was bidding on the Carter & Bench barrels last night but I fell a couple hundred bucks short on each I'm pretty surprised the Carter went as high as it did I thought I had a chance in the mid $400s but I guess not. This was my consolation purchase at a fraction of the price.

I dont know why i would imagine you'd have a bunch of barrels but excellent pick-up!!

And on those I stings that ended last night I had bids on 23 of them and won 0. Last week I won 4-5 of his, this week seemed skewed to the real high side. My bids were around market and a few above the last sales. Some of those went way to high IMO.

Last night the prices did seem high I agree, but the week before he sold a Koufax patch that I fell asleep on right before the auction closed I was pretty pissed I felt it went below market value. I think this guy has a pretty big following by now and whenever he has auctions most HOF collectors will at least put a few of his pieces on the watch list. I only bid on those two barrels this time, didn't work out unfortunately.

I think the poor design was one of the reasons these never went too high, I think I got this one at a very reasonable price. But I agree with you for a bat knob the design could have been far nicer.
