Was wondering who out there is going to be celebrating Hannukah in a couple of weeks?

What are you getting for your folks? Any big plans?

I was hoping to get a little message board Hannukah party on one of the days with some chatter and contests. If anyone's up for it let me know.

Id be in for it
Only 16, so at this point it's tradition for me to get gifts, not really give :D
My mother tells me she's got my gift planned out, hoping for lots of cards but I'm sure it'll be great no matter what.

I always thought that would be fun, or like a case of something with 1-2 boxes a night, seems like a good idea

Glad to see some brethren out there. I will hopefully get something going as far as a little Hannukah party (with a contest or two I hope.)

As far as presents, my fam decided to get my mother a digital camera, which we've already picked up. Not sure what to get my Dad, we picked up the complete Far Side for a decent price, but I'm thinking it might not really be his style (and I want to keep it anyway :))

I spoke to someone who told me about a program that sends Hannukah themed chocolates to Jewish soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan and I hope to get involved in that (it's like $10 a package including shipping, and the soldiers definitely deserve that much.)

I spoke to someone today who has arranged to send holiday shaped chocolate's to the Jewish soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think it's around $10 per, and to me it really sums up what the holiday is about.

Anyone else doing anything in the spirit of giving for the holidays.

I think Adam Sandler's
is hilarious and I also love Weird Al Yankovic's Pretty Fly (for a Rabbi) even though I'm a Gentile. Does everybody who is Jewish think they are funny too (Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles, too) or do they overstep a little? I knew some a couple of Jewish guys in high school (there weren't many in may school) and they loved Jewish jokes. It was their own way of being proud of their heritage, if that makes sense. Just wondering. ;)
